So the solution to all this "to be unscrabled or not to be unscrambled " is to buy a new cam?
Maybe there could be a list of supported (or apparantly working) cam's and cam's that give problems.
My cam could be on the problem-list: Matrix-Reloaded/Ucas3.0 (Seca-Mediaguard). I'm going to try different cam's soon.

I still think it's a problem with mp (with the firedtv viewer the cam works fine) but it looks like since a few team members have a working setup with floppydtv/firedtv cards this is getting ignored. :(

I have a CryptoWorks TechniCrypt CW cam and it's NOT working correctly!

I'm currently debugging this but since I'm completely new to the tvserver I'm not sure I can find/fix the problem.

Well maybe you're right and if you're capable of fixing the problem, I will be grateful.
I still think it's a bit confusing since there are so many variables.
Indeed TvGlobe: cam works fine, whereas within MediaPortal/Tvserver it doesn't. But maybe not all hardware is equally supported. And my cam is sort of pretty old.

What kind of encryption does your provider has? Could you check the software and hardware version of your CAM and perhaps google the hell out of that description. Try to borrow a CAM from a friend or something and try that out. Buy a new one at a store where you can return it if it doesn't work.

    What's tv globe?

If you are using floppydtv/firedtv: What cam are you using?

I started a wiki page DigitalEverywhereCamProblems - MediaPortal Manual Documentation, maybe other users with working/non-working cams could add their model to the page...

    :D

I'm using KNC One TvStation DVB-S plus and GlobeTV (this way round, sorry) is the software that's shipped with this card. I guess you can compare it to the combination floppydtv/firedtv. You can download it for free at the website KNC ONE - TV-Karten und Software fr PC I think it works with other cards as well (which is not the case with firedtv).
Cam: Matrix Reloaded. Tomorrow I'll be after some differnet cam's. I hope the problem is the cam, that's the easiest way out of this.

I think this is a little broader than just the CAM itself. Too many people comes up with this issue. I use Technisat HD2 with AstonCrypt 2.19 CAM and have the same problem.
My personal workaround is to choose a program one by one untill it starts working. After a few tries it finally gets fixed.

    Hi guys,

here's a little update for all people having problems with floppydtv/firedtv and encrypted channels: I think (actually I'm pretty sure) I found the problem that caused the issues with my cam. I'm watching encrypted channels the last few days (without ci.exe) and didn't have a single disconnect.

I will talk to morpheus_xx so he can maybe commit the changes to the svn. In the meantime, if anyone wants to try/test the changes -> pm me and I'll send you a modified dll. You have to use a digitaleverywhere card, any other cards will not be affected.

Thanks for all your work on this issue! :D

Is this DLL built for MP 1.0.2 or 1.1.0? I'd be willing to try it on my 1.0.2 install with a Dilog/Smit Conax CAM. I haven't planned on upgrading to 1.1.0 before it's final.

I'm currently using a TechniCrypt Cx Conax CAM with FireDTV DVB-C firmware 2.2.10 from 070912 since this combination works without ci.exe and doesn't cause (frequent) discontinuities in the DVB stream. I also have a Dilog/Smit Conax CAM which seemed to work perfectly on my desktop PC (Win7 x64) with the latest driver & firmware when using DVBViewer. Unfortunately, the latest FireDTV x86 driver (5.0.6070.3000) and MP 1.0.2 don't seem to work together.
