ScreenControl plugin for MediaPortal v0.6.0

Dear community,
the updated version v0.6.0 of this plugin is ready for downloading.

Informations for users:

• Alphanumeric activation keys added.
• Extended Activity Detection mode added (only experimental).
• Option to enable/disable Mouse Activity Detection added.
• Screen Jump Blacklist Control functionality added.
• For more informations, please take a look into the attached manual.

As I said here before, IRSS and other input plugin support based on conjectures. There was not enough feedback to implement a full support. Maybe in a later release I want improve this. If you want to participate here, please send me a private message.

I have a problem with Screen Control: One time everything worked fine but after some time the Buttons (Yellow and Blue on my Remote) do not work anymore. Curiously I haven't changed anything related to the plugin. Now I installed the new version 0.6 and tried again but it doesn't work as well. I think the the problem is not related to the remote because I have another plugin (Sleep Control) that uses the red-button and works fine.

Since I installed the new version of Screen Control I have another problem: I can't even set the Quick-Activation buttons:

Hi Mr.Goro,
do you have switched on "Power Control" and "Resolution Control"?
Quick Activation buttons can only be set (and does not have the grayed state), if the appropriate functionality is switched on. If nothing of this helps to solve the problem, please reset your configuration (edit mediaportal.xml and delete the whole section for "Screen Control").

Thanks for the help! Now everything works as it did in the beginning.

But I have some suggestions:

1. I have to activate "Dim Display after.." to enable quick activation for dimming the display and "Turn off display after..." to enable quick activation for turning of the monitor. Just enabling power control would be better I think because I just want to do these things manually and now the display turn off every 60 minutes as this is the highest value.

2. I can only use quick activation once. When I use quick activation to dim the display and switch it back to normal by moving the mouse I think, I can't dim the display again. The same thing when turning off the monitor. Would be cool when I could dim the display by using one button and only pressing the same button again switches the monitor back to normal. Now pressing the button again would dim the display again.

Hope that everything gets clear with my description ;-)
Would be cool to see some of the features in one of the upcoming versions

Hi Mr.Goro,
thx for your suggestions.
To realize the first point, parts of the internal logic of this plugin must changed completely and this is not in scope yet. A possible workaround is the allow higher timeout values. The second point can be implemented, maybe with the next major release.

That sounds really good. For me the second point is the more important one.
The workaround with the higher timeout values would be enough for me. Something like 3 hours would not interrupt any movie I think!

Hi Micropolis,

first, thanks for the plug in.

If I enable the mouse activity detection, within MP all works great, but if I switch to another window (outside of MP), then my mouse is stuttering and have delays. If I switch back to MP, the mouse movement is OK again.

If I disable mouse activity detection, the mouse movement is OK (inside/outside of MP)

Any clue?
