Sorry for double posting the same question as Benoe. That will teach me to try and read this forum on my mobile ;)

So I've been getting into this PDA access thing. This is a bit off topic, but possibly of interest to those who want to use this interface remotely. The big problem I have is how to wake up the HTPC (which uses Powerscheduler to standby), when I'm out and about and want to schedule a recording.

I found a couple of web based WOL services:

    Depicus
    WOL Online - PDA/Phone Version

I've punched a port through my firewall (used UDP port 9, which is standard for WOL protocol), and can send WOL packets from these services into my network. Packets are definitely being received (confirmed with wireshark trace), but I couldn't get it to wake up the HTPC.

So then I got the little client that depicus has, loaded it up on another PC, and got it to send a magic packet. Success..... HTPC wakes up.

The difference between the local magic packet and the one from the internet (other than the source IP address) is that the local packet is a broadcast (255.255.255.255) and the one from the website is a unicast (NAT on the router changes it from the router's address to the HTPC address). It must be that my ethernet adaptor is only recognising broadcast magic packets, not unicast magic packets.

Somewhat predictably, I couldn't get my router to NAT to a broadcast address. Does anybody out their have these internet WOL solutions working through a NAT firewall?

    Hey globaldonkey,
I've tried that once with my Fritz Box. I setup a portforwaring to my broadcast address (not to my HTPC).
All packets received on external IP address port xxxx have been forwarded to 192.168.1.255.
    That worked for me.

Thanks Mr Montesa. Yeah my damn useless Netgear won't let me put in a directed broadcast into the translated address field. "maximum value = 254" :(

What I need is some sort of relay agent (or a new router). Directed broadcasts look to be a bit dangerous though......

I'm wondering if there is some way to configure the NIC to listen to unicast packets as well as broadcast. That would be the ideal solution. I tried changing the NIC from "magic packet" to "pattern match" bur then every packet that went towards my HTPC woke it up :(

The other possibility would be to setup the same script that's on the internet server on a "always on" web server inside my LAN, but that does generally defeat the purpose of using Powerscheduler on the HTPC in the first place. Talk about a Gordian Knot! I do have a trixbox running as a PBX..... maybe I could use that...... will keep on searching......

Allow streaming from all ips (on the internet)

    Hi.
I managed to get streaming to work on my Lan with no problem.
But is it possible to acess the stream from any ip from the internet? Because the places from which I would like to acess the stream have changing ip-adresses...

    I don't understand.
I have a dynamic ip on the server that tv-server is running on. And of course, I use DynDNS to acess this server from the internet.
But my problem is that I would like to watch the livestream of my tv-card from a number of different PC's on the Internet whose IP could be anything.
But: I have to enter an IP, domain or IPrange in the Webserverconfig and only they are allowed to acess the livestream.
So: How do I tell the Webserver that the IP-range should be the entire Internet?

I hope I made myself clear.

I saw the last version was from Feb 09. Does anyone know if there will be any updates? I actually loved the functionallity of this plugin but stopped using it as the webserver itself was just too unstable (at least in vista). When trying to stream i usually had a 50/50 chance of the webserver crashing (APPCRASH), TV Server, vista etc didn't crash or anything. Chances of crashing seemed higher when i tried WAN-LAN streaming as compared to over LAN only.

Edit: What i did notice back then is that my unstable install was running on a VLC 0.9.9 version that did not have any of the .dll's mentioned in the installation manual. Can anyone confirm instabillity could come from using a higher VLC version then 0.9.4?

    Problem with mySQL?

    Hi Guys,

I just discoverd this plugin a few weeks ago and I must say it worked great!:D

However, this week I installed MP V1.1Alpha and as it was a fresh install, I installed mySQL instead of SQLServer. Now if I want to record a program I get the error message:

Error: [AnyDAC][Phys][MySQL][LIBMYSQL] Field 'series' doesn't have a default value

Lookin with SQL Admin I see that in the table "schedule" none of the fields have a default value.

    Any ideas?

    :D

I am using this webserver and is very hapy with it. I have also access to it from Internett so I can manage ma recordings from my mobilephone.

Anyway; I have som suggestions for improvement (if anyone. . . .):

    - on the page "showsuggested" it would be very welcome if icons for "Scheduled" could be shown to easy see however the program is allready scheduled for recording of not.

    - Normally I scroll through the suggested-list a couple of times pr week. When I click on something that I want to record, a pop-up shows where I can define the record-options. When I close this popup, the explorer is automatically redirected to the TV-guide. Could it instead reload the current page?

Sorry for quoting myself, but am I really the only one trying to access the tv-stream from the internet?
