This is not the answer i expected ...
a short is possible or not would be enough ...
btw, in my eyes there are many useful capabilities for showing textfiles ...
own dvd lists, recipes, tutorials, important dates, addresses, ebooks and many many more ...
and it would be very nice if i had them all in my favorite HTPC software ...

My answer also comes down to notepad (or whatever is associated in Windows). Sorry.
If you go to MP Configuration
go to plugins
enable MyPrograms if currently disabled
rightclick MyPrograms and select Configuration
Click Add as Child
Select Application Launcher
Enter a title
Select your txt file in the Application field.
Now you can select it in MP by going to the Plugins/Programs.
Also make sure that "Always on top" in general settings is NOT selected (I think...).

You can define the font size, background and text color ...
The Problem is to close the Program to get back to MP or to access the file menu ...
My remote is the Microsoft Remote.

I think you can control (close) other apps with IR Server Suite. Not 100% sure. Search it, try it or ask the developer over in this thread.
