SiliconDust HDHomeRun Flex 4K and ATSC 3.0 (1 Viewer)

I recently purchased an HDHomeRun FLEX 4K (Model: HDFX-4K). Related, I live near Toronto (Canada), and I can capture over-the-air broadcasts from Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo (USA). All of my ATSC (1.0) channels are working well, some showing slightly better signal strength than with my previous HDHomeRun Dual (Model HDHR3-US). The FLEX 4K also captures the new ATSC 3.0 signals from Buffalo, but I've only gotten them working through the SiliconDust Live TV app.

Has anyone been able to watch ATSC 3.0 signals through MediaPortal?

@WedgeCan I've had the HDHR Connect 4K tuner for a while but only just now got atsc 3.0 channels in my area. Now, for some reason I can't get the channel scan in TV Service to complete. It goes through about half the channels and stops. and it looks like a normal stop but when I view the log I see this:

    Code:
    [2021-07-01 13:56:02,056] [Log ] [ATSC scan thread] [INFO ] - ATSC: scanning ATSC over-the-air, physical channel = 28, modulation = 8 VSB
[2021-07-01 13:56:07,077] [Log ] [ATSC scan thread] [ERROR] - Exception :System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond
I still have a 1.0 tuner so I can finish mapping all the 1.0 channels but I never get to the 3.0 channels. Did you ever have any luck getting yours working?

EDIT: So, I forgot to reboot after installing new software for HDHomerun, it now completes the scan but it never detects the ATSC 3.0 stations. So, I too can only watch 4K Broadcast TV through the HDHomerun app. :(

I played around a little more with this today. I was able to scan and add the ATSC 3.0 stations to DvbIP tuners by using urls. But since there is no AC-4 audio support for them, it doesn't detect audio and aborts. I was really hoping to see how it looked in MP.

@RonD Thanks for that AC-4 link, I had been following the ATSC 3.0 forum but somehow I hadn't seen that AC-4 thread.
EDIT: and btw, I wasn't blaming MediaPortal, just stating that my experiment ended due to no audio being found.

Yea, my experiment too has been put on hold until the AC-4 is more widely used. Hopefully the FFmpeg codecs will get updated soon and then my HDFX-4K scans will work in MediaPortal. -- And neither am I complaining that it hasn't happened yet. It's just been something to noodle around with during lockdowns here in Ontario.

I have not tried it yet. Hope you get the answer very soon.

Any info on the HDHomeRun FLEX 4K, being able to record through MP?
I've tried all the Clear Qam cable tuning frequencies, ATSC digital terrestrial scan and nothing for the atsc 3.0.

Attached is a pic showing what physical channel they are on. (Channel 31)
On each scan Channel 31 said it could not find anything on that channel
    I am in the U.S

    Thanks

@Cam Mediaportal won't register the ATSC3.0 channels as a working channel since there is no audio available (No AC-4 decoder}. It's kind of disappointing. Supposedly there is work going on to add it to ffmpeg but it still isn't working as far as I know.
