Silicon Dust bought a license for the AC4 codec so they could include it with their software.

Would like to keep free TV "FREE", but maybe MP can look at a plug-in for MP user to have an account to be able to receive sound.
It would have to be a very low cost like $5.00 a year or something like that.

Is there any chance that MP would be able to pass-through AC4 if there is no support in ffmpeg? Some newer AVRs can decode AC4 natively, and if it were passed through, I presume that would be an option.

    Thanks.

It looks like ffmpeg might have finally gotten AC-4 implemented (scroll to the end of the list). Unfortunately, I don't yet have an ATSC 3.0 tuner. If it would work, assuming no compilation requirements on MePo, would someone who has an HD HomeRun tuner be able to substitute the ffmpeg exe with the exe from this version to see if it now works with MePo?

    Thanks.

@wiyosaya I gave v.6.1 a try with the included ffmpeg player, ffplay. First off, I'm in uncharted territory but, I don't think it's working.
This is the command line I used ffplay "http://192.168.1.87:5004/auto/v109.1" (this was directly from the tuner) I got these errors:
    [QUOTE] [mpegts @ 0000015eb5f240c0] Could not find codec parameters for stream 1 (Audio: ac4 (AC-4 / 0x342D4341), 0 channels): unspecified sample rate Consider increasing the value for the 'analyzeduration' (0) and 'probesize' (5000000) options [mpegts @ 0000015eb5f240c0] Could not find codec parameters for stream 3 (Audio: ac4 (AC-4 / 0x342D4341), 0 channels): unspecified sample rate Consider increasing the value for the 'analyzeduration' (0) and 'probesize' (5000000) options Input #0, mpegts, from 'http://192.168.1.87:5004/auto/v142.1': Duration: N/A, start: 24069.071967, bitrate: N/A Program 3 Stream #0:0[0x31]: Video: hevc (Main 10) ([36][0][0][0] / 0x0024), yuv420p10le(tv, bt709), 1280x720 [SAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], Closed Captions, 120 fps, 119.88 tbr, 90k tbn Stream #0:1[0x32](eng): Audio: ac4 (AC-4 / 0x342D4341), 0 channels Stream #0:2[0x39](eng): Data: bin_data (STPP / 0x50505453) Stream #0:3[0x33](spa): Audio: ac4 (AC-4 / 0x342D4341), 0 channels 24939.23 M-V: -0.004 fd=52369 aq= 0KB vq= 498KB sq= 0B f=0/0 [/QUOTE]
It otherwise shows the video normally
@Cam I tried it with both ffmpeg versions downloaded from here: https://ffmpeg.org/download.html#build-windows
    I've attached a 25 second 4k video I recorded.

To add to this, I found the ffmpeg file in the tvserver folder and swapped it out with v6.1 but I still get these errors.

You are wasting a time. To support AC-4, the TsWriter/TsReader filters must be updated first. And it's pointless to work on it if there is no support in LAV AudioDecoder.
