where can i download the Skin Designer?

There is no SkinDesigner atm i'm afraid.

The old one is totally outofdate and practically unusuable since too much has changed in the skinengine.

...or a little bit patience until the next MediaPortal version is out in several months. Then you can use e.g. Microsoft Expression for skindesign. But as said, this will still take a bit, the team is working on it at the moment.

To be able to install "Expression", do you have to install Visual studio express edition or does it work with Visual Studio 2005 (real edition) too?

hello,

now i have some questiones more

i have read this article:

because my english ist not realy good i dont understand the complete text.

point 2.3 is unclearly for me. in the beginning i want simple replace some resources from the media folder. but the changes take no effect. must i delete the "packedgfx20.png"? when i do this, mp start but rendering does not work.

can anybody help me in a simple english ?

You need to delete all the packedgfx*.png plus the packed*.bxml file and restart MP for the changes to take effect.

You only need to do that when changing grafics though and not when changing xmls.
