I have downloaded the skin editor and got it all running.

But the version I have does not show the colour palette.

Version from January 2006.

Is there another version that includes the colour palette shown in the documentation?

Not to seem harsh, but go ahead and remove the skin editor. It has not been supported since January and there have been tons of skin enhacements since it's release.

Indeed, but I really wonder why doesn't anybody get it removed from the file list...

So chaps, taking the advice on board.

What can I use instead of the editor o attempt to create a new skin?

Notepad or another XML editor. Hang in the skin section of the forum and talk to some of the skinners (Harley, grassynoel, Forgotton Illistrator.) They would be the ones to set you on the right track.

I am by no means a skinner and my graphic talents are in the range of cave drawings.

Now that would be an interesting skin, a cave-man/woman based skin! Could even use a font that is more than likely very primative looking. Have a cave man pointing to images on the cave wall!

wishywashy - Please note that this was not meant as an insult to you or to any cave-people (not to say you are a cave person) who maybe reading this thread. This just brought up images in my head. Yes, I have been told I have a strange imagination. If my talent only matched my imagination it would be great!

Well, I had already recognized your problem, but I still wanted to point out the basic connections once again. Unfortunately, I don't have a fundamentally different solution for you, but with this approach you should achieve your goal. ;) The idea of first setting the current genre colors with the defines is certainly a good one, as...

I made some updates to the Wiki page describing the <import> and <include> tags, including adding a couple of new xml examples. For the first example, I highlighted the example text and eventually found the location in the menus where I could select the CODE macro to have the example text formatted as a code example. So far, so good...
