This grabs the EPG and Series Link.

It will not sort channels out.

I never even realised you maintained a plugin which did similar. What are the pros to using your plugin over this?

It will scan and update channels automatically as a sky box would, you select your region and it does the rest adding groups like "Entertainment", "Lifestyle", "Movies" etc. It downloads channel icons too.

The advantage of this plugin is that if you're using a pay provider that transmits epg data via OpenTV and you want a 'series' record option then this is easier to setup. For example, SKY NZ uses OpenTV for all the EPG stuff and while DJBlu's plugin will do this, it is a little harder to setup as his does not do anything for New Zealand, where as this plugin can easily amended to access the EPG information.

Ahh I spend hours renaming my channels and the subsequent renaming of all the glossy icons!! Does your plugin have verbose channel names that look nice and uniform?

Hi there,

You could always do a hybrid approach....

I used DJBlu's version to get my channels and number them. Then I exported I ran Miroslav22's version on a day to day basis. This was down to DJBlu's ealier versions having issues and not working too well.

Going forward I will need rethink my strategy (depending if it gets merged into the base MP code).
