I dunno if it my old card but since the update to 1.2 I can populate the epg etc no problem but when i click on a channel it just lock mp altogeather, weird this is if i go to preview a channel in config the view no problem but inside mediaportal it just locks up n i have force quit or reboot computer...driving me crazy used to work no problem even went as far as to reinstall win 7 and mp , the whole lot but it keeps doing the same thing. Don't want to go analogue for Christmas lol anyone else got this problem?

I had same problem when using anything but the default skin.

Which 1.2.0 release have you guys tried? The first 1.2.0 release without the channel scan was built from the 1.2.0 tag version and has been almost perfectly stable for me (mytvseries and moving pictures work fine as does the Maya skin)

The second 1.2.0 release with the fast channel scan I think was built from the latest SVN so there's likely to be bugs in it.

I'd like a version compiled against the official 1.2.0A as per main download which I presume is the first 1.2.0. It's working great as my production system with MAYA.

PS. At the moment I'm not using the SKY channel scanner due to Maya incompatibility & unable to scan channels (did it once but never again). However, I would love to get this going properly.
For the moment I am using the Alpha Installer only.

Just to clarify. I'd be happy just to have the basic sky epg grabbing stuff working for 1.1.2 (or a way to upgrade my 1.1.1 version with the 1.1.2 fixes), I wasn't asking for the new channel scanning code...

Can someone explain to me how series link works with MediaPortal. In particular when are series linked programs turned into actual scheduled recordings. The reason I ask is that just now I was looking at the TV guide to see what was on tomorrow evening and a bunch of programs I expected to be recorded did not show up in red (which programs set to record normally do). However when I clicked on the program the upcoming episodes screen did indeed show the program as set to record. All of these programs have been set to record via a series link. The really odd thing is that as I was writing this to report a bug I checked them again, and now they do show up as scheduled to record in the guide. So is there some sort of background task that runs to mark the programs to be recorded? If so when does it run?

Also it is not easy to see what programs a series link will actually record. Only the series link seems to show up in the scheduled recordings screen. Is there some way to see the actual selected programs ahead of time?

just realised that openTV is removing masses of my channels every 24hours. not just redundent ones??? even lost epgaudio background via the auto scans???

Hi Andy, yes there is a small bug here. Each program has a flag specifying whether it is scheduled to record (it's just used for highlighting and to check for conflicts when you try to set multiple recordings at the same time). For some reason this flag doesn't always get set when a program is series linked.

The code that actually starts the recording doesn't rely on this flag so even if a program doesn't show in red it should still be recorded if the series id matches. Let me know if it ever misses one.

I'm currently working on a couple of other enhancements to MP but will make some improvements soon. Certainly being able to get a list of programs to be recorded will be useful, i'll add that to the list.

I've only just come across this thread and the software, and I think it look highly desirable for anyone used to the Series Link function on Sky. I currently use both WEBepg to get 14 days of listings as well as the EPG grabber in TVServer and this works well enough - but it would be really nice to also have series link

I have one question. Does this software completely replace the existing TVServer "record every time on this channel" function? While this can be annoying in that repeats are also recorded, it does have one extremely desirable side effect (for me at least) in that once a series of programmes is finished the request stays in the database. So, if a new series starts up again in - say - 6 months time it gets recorded automatically even if I'm away and can't set a new recording schedule.

Would this happen with this replacement package?

Thanks for the explanation. So far I've not seen any missed programs... One question though, why did the programs not show up in red when I first looked at them, but did show up when I looked a little later?

Oh and once again let me say how useful this feature is not only do I get a great epg (much more reliable than my old radiotimes/webepg system), but the series link feature handles some hard to record things really well. At the moment there is a science series on BBC 4 which is basically a collection of different science programs with a common theme. The problem is that each program title is totally different (Horizon, joy of stats etc.) and recording the entrire series using the old system would have been a real pain. With series link it is just one click!

I have just seen it myself. I know what it is and will be repairing it.
