Sky UK/IT/AUS enhancements (2 Viewers)

I had an error upgrading from 1.1.1 to 1.2.0 because it couldn't upgrade the DB, hence DB change.
They made changes to the DB so channels with the same name can be combined. unfortunately the scanner it goes far too OTT when you have more than 1 satellite or provider. Instead of looking at both name and provider(maybe SID too) so you have 8 or versions of say Eurosport which are all different carrying different programs it combines them into into 1 with the only way to switch between them is to enter the TV server config and delete the tuning details for all but the one you want.
but to watch a different one you have to scan the one you want again and delete the tuning details for the one you don't want to watch again.
It's great for a nice clean scan of say Sky sports HD where there are duplicate channels on the same transponder using the same Video and audio streams with a different SID. but if you have a situation like above it's a royal pain in the ass.
it messes up channels like
Nat geo HD
Boomerang
ESPN America (HD)
History
Eurosport (1 and 2 and HD)
etc etc.

Not sure who you mean but they. Are you talking about the changed files in this thread or MP itself?
Well I used the latest version (opentv version) in this thread to generate my channels - none are merged, all are listed as separate channels.
I then export the channel list, and then reinstall 1.2.0A from the beginning of the thread (because the SVN that the latest version uses does not work with Moving Pictures etc..) and reimport all my channels.
I use MSSQL 2008 R2 - not sure if that is relevant..
So not sure why yours is merging channels together?

DJblu's open TV scanner is fine as far as i can tell. apart from the odd bug he probably knows about. like having to disable it when using other satellites. but you can just re-enable it do an open TV scan, disable it and restart tv server to do an update and make things run as normal again.
The mepo 1.2.0 scanner merges the channels. even with a fresh clean from scratch mptvDB. I've had to remove the combined tuning details go back to mepo 1.1.1 to add the other channel from other satellites properly.
Which is why i was wondering if DJblu had a made a plugin that works with mepo 1.1.1, after all some changes on recent the current 1.2.0 made his work redundant.

What exact version of 1.2 did you use? This should not happen and last time I did a full scan on 1.2 I still got hundreds of versions of Channel 4 and none were combined.
If this is merging channels automatically then this is a bug but I have not seen this (will check in the morning though)

a. Allow users to change the groups from the top of the page. Like the Sky HD Guide.
b. Allow users to change channels by number outside of the selected group. i.e. Zap to Sky Sports 1 will be possible if in the Kids group. This is almost complete and should be .
What I am having trouble with is the Skin file of the TV Guide for item a. I know you are busy with other stuff so if you can assist then this would be great.

Does anyone have a full set of channel logos that match the channels as they are named from a scan using the files in this thread?
If so, any chance of uploading them in a zip file?
I have many of them, but a fair few are missing..

Let me know which ones you are missing here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mediaportal-skins-50/uk-tv-radio-logos-87737/ and I'll see what I can do. If you could provide a list of channel names from the sky scanner in the other thread that would be most helpful too.
I just deleted my logos and reinstalled the file from the first post in other thread. I now have some which were missing (i.e. ITV 2 HD). Some are named wrongly though, so I was just being lazy and hopeful that someone in this thread already had a complete (or near complete) set!!
I think when I start to use the auto channel scanner then it will be important to have the logos match the channel name as scanned (previously I used to do a mixture of renaming the logos, and renaming channels to match logos depending upon which seemed to be the best appearance wise..)
