Sky UK/IT/AUS enhancements (1 Viewer)

Sorry for this again, still not working, but a bit further, here we go:-
- Uninstalled MP & MySQL completely (made sure dirs gone), re-booted and installed MP 1.2beta
- Installed Sky UK Grabber per DJBlu's guide.
- Ok, some light at the end of the tunnel I managed to grab channels via the Sky UK Grabber, and it appeared to finish successfully.
- Ran up MP but it seemed as though a lot of channels missing. I.E. only about 8 news channels (as I remember).
- Went back into TV config and tried to grab again, but as before it just sits there "Grabbing Data".
- Left it for about 15mins and no change so dropped out, stopped tv service, stopped mysql service and deleted mptvdb folder per above.
- Back in and enabled Sky UK Grabber again and attempted to Grab Data........but again just sits there "Grabbing Data".
- Re-booted PC, tried grabbing again......this time it grabs ok.....968 channels in 15 bouquets, 121181 titles, 118072 summaries.
- Checked to see how many news channels listed, definitely more now........11off.
Ok, now for some testing...............
- I am getting NO SIGNAL when trying to view _ANY_ channel. So into Tv config I notice that under TV MAPPING only one of my cards has all the channels mapped to the card, my other card has NONE. So, I manually copied all available channels to that card also........still NO SIGNAL............Does the SKY UK Grabber work with 2off cards?, or is it getting confused.....both cards have identical names remember?
- Went into the TEST CHANNEL facility and ran a test on ENTERTAINMENT..........result is either NO SIGNAL or CHANNEL IS NOT MAPPED TO ANY CARD.
- Went back into SKY UK Grabber and tried grabbing channels again, and noticed that this time after the EPG GRABBED line it now has an extra line "Database Update Complete, that took 56 seconds".............I never had that line last time around.
- Ran up MP..............still "no signal".
- Tried grabbing again, this time 1 card followed immediately by the 2nd...............Ran up MP..............still "no signal".
- Disabled all cards except one......re-booted, ran up MP still no joy. Back in to the grabber and notice it still lists 2off cards despite me having disabled one under Tv Servers. Hmmm!
Am I missing something still........would appreciate anything?
PS. Lucky I'm running off a cloned HD, so it's easy to go back to MP 1.2.0 alpha which is working flawlessly......keeps the wife off ma back!.....but I really wanted the Sky grabber. Oh well!

Sounds like you need to enable the tv cards in the build in tv scanner,
In TV server configuration, go to tv servers/your pc name/your tv card also make sure 28.2 for sat is selected and also tick the enable DVB-S2.
I can report it working after having a quick play with it but takes about 10 mins to fully complete as it gave a message to say it completed after 695 seconds.

I'm going to fix this with a little tip
Try this.
Change the Diseqc to SimpleA in the Card Setup page and the Sky Grabber also. There has been a bug in Mediaportal for a while now with Hauppauge DVB-S2 cards.
The grabber only maps to 1 card at once. There will be an option in the future to map to all cards.
What is your system spec?
CPU and Card type?
Would like to know as it takes 3 mins on a 3.2 ghz single processor.

Im using a tbs 6981 dual dvb-s2 tv card and a intel quad q8400 2.67Ghz with 4gb of ram.
I was supprised it took that long when you said it was shorter.
I noticed after it found all the transponders and bouquets after a couple of mins but when i went to tv channels not all of them was there and it was still adding them for about another 8 mins till I got another message on your pluggin saying it updated in 695 seconds by which point all the channels were available.
I have installed this on top of miroslav's 1.2b update so not sure if this has had any effect.

UPDATE:-
Still a problem. Sometimes when open TV Config PLUGINS is the last item down the side, no IMPORT/EXPORT or ADDITIONAL 3rd PARTIES. Select PLUGINS and SKY UK GRABBER is checked but no way to open, there's no "+" next to PLUGINS. Selecting another such as ServerBlaster and it will appear but not SKY TV GRABBER in the wee list.
This seems to happen after have selected cards in TV SERVERS (SimpleA/28.2e).
Reset mySQL database several times, re-booted, played about by doing things in different order, mid grabbing data and TV Config would crash totally.....or just sit at "Grabbing Data"..............and yes I do have SimpleA selected.
Something isn't right either with MP 1.2beta and/or the Sky Grabber perhaps with Hauppauge Nova HD S2 cards...................shouldn't be this hard.......but it is beta software afterall.

As a update I did a complete uninstall and then reinstall of 1.2b and then your installers, i also made sure i kept a closer eye on it this time
It took about 1 min 30 seconds for channel & bouquet scan to complete, then about another min for the epg to grab.
It then imported the channels and put them into group correctly which then gave the message database update complete, that took 235 seconds. So a big improvements on my 1st attempt so just goes to show cutting corners dont always save time
