Hi DJBlu. Just found what seams to be a small problem with this excellent plugin. If i run the scanner with no channels in the tv service its scans and updates the epg in 3 mins like you said it would.

However last night i refreshed the epg. now if i run it i get "EPG grabbed, database update complete that took 60 seconds" however no data is put into the database. Just tryed deleting all the channels and rescanned and it worked fine again. seems it will update the epg database only if there are NO channels in the channel list.

Also the the normal DVB grabber in the tv service wont now wont update at all. I'll have another play with it later on. If you have any ideas can you let me know.

Hi , I live in Nottingham so am in the east midlands region,
I've had a play with the region setting but dont appear to be able to get the correct BBC at 101(BBC1 East Midlands (Waltham) 980)

any ideas?
it also seems to only way to force it to repopulate the region is to delete all the channels before rescanning.

by choosing the following regions you get the following results

mids & yorkshire -> BBC1 East Midlands
east +mids -> BBC1 Yorks & Lincs
borders -> BBC1 NE & C
emids ->BBC1 Yorks & Lincs
so it looks like the matching up between the dropdown and the results are not correct.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Take a look at the screen reader friendly sky guide @ sky.com as this is where I got the info from.

If you select those regions on their website the same channels come up.

I can put an option in there which will allow you to choose which BBC & ITV you want and it will use this for future channel updates.

Say you hit Grab now then a screen will pop up saying

I have found these regions --> 4099-43 which gives these numbers for these channels "BBC blah and ITV blah" Select which one you would like to use and then it updates the database.

You would only have to do this on the first scan.

I would like people to let me know of everything on this, no matter how small. That might be the reason why something isn't working.

I'm having similar problems to IanJ (no relation )

Performed a clean install as per DJBlu's instructions. Initially it seemed OK but when I clicked grab I realised I hadn't set the disecq, so I pressed cancel and restarted server config. It then only showed upto the plugins option and the grabber wouldn't select. I then uninstalled, dropped the database and re-installed and the menu came back. Selected the correct options, clicked grab and it just sat there for about 20 mins until I cancelled it. On restarting server config the menu had dissapeared again!

It's not a signal problem as I can get reception via DVB Viewer and the normal channel scan works.

My system is Win7 (32bit)
Dual core 2.5ghz Athlon
2gb ram
160g sata system drive
750g sata drive for recordings
Technisat Skystar HD2 dvbs2 card (3 LNB's connected by 4 port disecq switch for 19, 28 and 13)
Kworld UB499-2T twin tuner USB DVB-T stick

do you need to tune your tv card or will this do it for you? It added all the channels with out tuneing it in but it only works for one card one... I have 2xdvb-s and 2xdvb-s2

The card that you select in the drop down box in the settings is the card that it will tune to.

I have made quite a few mods and will be releasing a newer version later this evening.

I did that but if I what to record more then one channel I get no freecard error.

But the way it sorts all the channels was great and epg worked for every channel. on my system it was about 8 mins doing its thing which is not bad as it only amd 3700+ with 1 gig of ram.. it did have 2 gig but one of the sd ram stopped working so I had to remove it.

DJBlu - I have 4 cards in my htpc, how can I ensure that all are setup and mapped to the channels?

Also I may have run into a brick wall on this tonight and am not sure if this is a MP bug, to do with this patch, or simply my config of it... I installed 1.2 beta yesterday with your patch and all appeared to be working fine... however today live tv has stopped without me installing anything new as far as I can tell! If I go into the tv guide and try to play any channel, I get about 1 second of picture and audio, then it freezes and half of the time MP crashes with it.

If I preview a channel in the tv server config it seems to work ok, so its just in the client itself I think. Logs attached, it is closing the ts stream.

I have also posted in the 1.2 beta forums incase this is a MP bug. Please let me know if there is anything i can/should try, or if you need any further information.

update... if I record TV, the recording seems to work, and I can watch the recording ok... not sure if that helps or not!

Normal TV should not be affected as the plugin uses its own version of Timeshifting.

I'll take a look into it later.

Go into the TV Channels -> TVMapping --> Select the card that the channels are not mapped to and then select them all and click the >> button.

This will map the channels to the other card. Future releases will allow you to map to all channels from the grab, you will have to manually do this until I release a new file.

You will need to do this with the Radio Channels also.
