Hi, I have just done a complete re-install of win 7 64bit + SP1, MP 1.2.0RC, after multiple restarts I then try and install Setup-MediaPortal-svn-1.1.8.28181.exe and all I get is the message "A reboot is required after a previous action. Reboot your system and try it again".
So I am still stuck. Anyone else having this issue as I have no EPG, please help......
There must be something in the registry that the SVN is checking on, which is falsely reporting back. Does anybody know what registry key this would be in windows 7 64 bit please?

Kind regards.

Hi Gloomyandy, I have the same setup as yourself and, also like you, prefer to setup and arrange my own channels, so would really be interested in what systems and process you use for setting up your EPG, red button, etc.

    Kind regards.

Hi Sorry for not replying sooner. I have actually been trying things with the DJBlu scanner and currently have things working with that. The setup for both is actually very similar and the following post:

provides some detail of how I have things setup. I'm sure there is a better way though!

    Hello,

Just a small bug report to make - I installed this recently, and run my mysqld on a nearby Linux box rather than have it on my Windows HTPC. As a result, the tablenames are case sensitive by default.

Because of this, when installing I received an error, "unable to update the database". Closer inspection reveals that the ALTER TABLE statements are trying to modify "program" and "schedule", when the tables are actually called Program and Schedule. I fixed it by simply renaming the tables temporarily. There is also a lower-case-table-names option for mysql that I might enable in future to avoid these.

But I just thought you might like to know it might catch some people out :)

    Hey,

Found another issue I'd like to report. If this plugin is grabbing EPG details, and I try to start watching TV, the card does not always appear to be freed quickly enough for TV to get the card and lock onto the signal.
I have two cards, so it fails over onto the second satellite card. Sometimes it works and stays on the same card, sometimes it doesn't.

I've not noticed this behaviour with the normal EPG grabber set to grab from Freesat Info. Log extract is attached. You can see the EPG start on card 6, then I try to view ITV2 which ends up on card 15. I haven't tried, but I assume if I didn't have a second card, I would have experienced issues trying to watch ITV2 at that point.

    Hi All,

After using "MP Sky EPG v1.0 (For 1.1.2 Stable)" for a long time, ideally I'd like to move up to MP 1.2.1 with Sky EPG grabbing functionality (Freesat, no Sky subscription). Fist, I downloaded MP SVN 28148 and (using MSBuild) this compiled fine to both the MP client installer and MP TV server installer. I then applied the "Sky EPG v1.1 (SVN 28148 1.2.0 RC1).patch" and although the MP client installer compiled without any issues, I can't get it to compile the MP TV server installer. I've attached the build log and hopefully somebody is able to make sense of any error(s)? Once I'm able to compile the patched SVN 28148 release the plan would be to try and compile a patched release based on the 1.2.1 SVN (assuming there are no code conflicts of course ;)).

I've only had a quick look - but it appears that you have patched some of the files twice (usually caused when you revert your code but don't remove any files added by a previous patch - also a pet hate of mine with SVN as I have a habit of doing it).

    Hi davidf,

Thanks for the response. You could well be right, as I have applied patches before and then reverted. What's the best way to 'clean up' the additional files? How do I recognise these files?

    Thanks again!

I don't know the best way :) I delete the folder and the revert. It'll save lots of time and bandwidth if you look for all the .cs files marked with a blue question mark and delete them or their parent folder.

Plan B is Revert, then open patch file and inspect the files by double clicking each individually - it's easy to spot the new ones as there'll be two Mediaportal comment headers.

    Hi davidf,

You were definitely correct; there was duplication. To 'undo' a patch I now do the following: revert -> clean up -> check for modifications. During that last step you see the files that were created by the patch and you have the option to delete these. I then re-applied the patch and I managed to successfully compile the 28148 SVN with the Sky EPG patch.

The next steps were to remove the patch, clean up as per the instructions above and update to the latest SVN revision. I noticed the latest SVN already had a database revision upgrade, so had to 'up-rev' the database modification included in the patch. Following this change I was able to successfully compile the latest SVN with the Sky EPG patch. However, I'm not sure whether the files will work because I haven't installed them yet :D, that's planned for later on this week.

    Thanks again for your help.
