MP on start reint all audio device / video device, for the audio part, it should do already done that on stop if the audio device is detected removed/added.
But doing this should only be done on a faulty device (Intel is really weird on that side) other like mine Nvidia didn't remove/add the audio device on the refresh rate change. (this is why I can't reproduce it).
So let's try to hack that, I can try between the next weekend to force the new detection on stop for you to test, but I think it's what I have done in V3 :p

    =)
And I want to be really bothersome.. I just received my new receiver, Onkyo TX-NR686 and another "strange" thing is happening.
The receiver is stopping to send the signal to the TV(TV is showing no signal and receiver is seeing "unknown" audio) after audio has changed from like DTS to "analog/pcm"(Video stops). VNC video is still working and I have to exit MP and just trigger a sound in windows(like changing volume) and the signal is returned to the TV.
Most likely a receiver bug when it doesnt get a sound signal.. but hopefully a small fix can be found for that too. :-/

    Checked the option.
Started playback from start -> Sound -> FF 10min -> Pressed stop -> No signal on TV

    Another try:
    * Windows 10 -> Receiver says Input is "PCM 2.0"
    * Start MP -> Receiver says Input is "PCM 2.0"
    * Start Video -> Receiver says Input is "DD 5.1"
    * Stop Video -> Receiver says Input is "Analog"
    * Start Video -> Receiver says Input is "DD 5.1"
    * Stop Video -> NO SIGNAL (Receiver blinking "UNKNOWN")
    * Start Video -> Image restored. Receiver says Input is "DD 5.1"
    * Stop Video -> Receiver says Input is "Analog"
    * Close MP(Windows) -> Receiver says Input is "Analog"

It is like PCM-stream is dead after video is stopped..
I guess that if you force some playback(or similar) of a "silent" sound right after player is stopped it will reinitialize the PCM-stream? If that is a solution or possible workaround.
Also this might probably be a bit trickier to debug since I need to look at the TV and receiver after every playback. :-(
