If I'm not mistaken, the Rocu streams internet connected media, like NetFlix and Hulu, correct? ... And Time Warner Cable has created a web based resource to provide the Rocu with streaming live TV channels (I don't know what the limitations on recording programming might be, but I'm sure there are some).
If you are already using MediaPortal for Live and recorded TV, via a TV Tuner Card (various limitations may apply), why do you need to stream it to the Rocu? You can just use a second input to your TV and switch to that when viewing live or recorded TV, and use the Rocu for those subscribed internet media services you want to use on another input.
You are correct, the Roku streams those types of media. Time Warner did sign up but you have to be an existing customer or they have to provide their service in your area. What I am attempting to do is use my OTA to record shows, have show converted to format Roku plays (this part I can accomplish), then play the show back on Roku. The situation I am running into is finding a media center or TV Guide program that has a Roku channel created where the user can access the guide and files from the Roku front end. I know of one other pvr that a Roku can access but the Roku channel was created but does not work completely and no more development was continued. Would also like to be ale to stream the live ota signal to Roku. This is possible as several larger companies in some areas provide live tv (abc, cbs, fox etc) to customer for monthly price. I dont see a need to pay them even if they existed in my area, to get free ota.
Thanks for your reply.
Oh no. That's not good news. It looks like this is going to be complicated.
OnlineVideos won't let us record, so that isn't going to work on this occasion, but I do like the information you have given on Online Videos because I have tried and failed to understand the wiki on that. I will remember this for future use.
In the meantime...

Yes, works, thanks. Deselecting "Prefer multichannel audio streams" under "Video Player" (under "Players") gives me the stereo stream, by default, in television also. Thanks for your help. N.
