Hi CKB

What do you mod to get rid of the Black Backgound from the side menu? I would like to try this. I have rotating pictures from my basichome screen but half of the pictures are covered due to the dark background.

I created a new image with a stretched version of the weather overlay where the text would be.

This is the basic home, so replaces the one third black screen, not the full home with the half black.

I've modded a couple of areas :

1. BasicHome.xml

I've redirected the <path></path> for both MovingPictures and MyTvSeries to use their own backgrounds rather than the skins - means all backgrounds are now directly linked to my media

Would you mind posting your xml for this? This sounds much better than having to deal with two sets of fanart.

id also like to see how you changed the basic home so that moving pictures and my tv series points to its own media. this would save updated the media folders in the skin all the time.

I've been modding the TVSeries for a more fanart focused look - flat filmstrip and angled filmstrip available. Check it out, let me know what you think

im not quite sure what you mean ?? is it the backdrop fanart you need to know how you change or what ?

The basic trick is to open the xml and locate the section for, say TV.

<imagepath>tv</imagepath> is the line, simply replace 'TV' with the location for your fanart.

<imagepath>C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\thumbs\Fan Art\fanart\original</imagepath>

Do you think that the MyHome.xml also could be modded to support that!?

Have been looking for the code for MyHome.xml... And i cannot see where i loads pictures anywhere!?? :/
