As I like myhome.xml better than bascihome.xml (no need to sort the plugins again, labels are shown, it returns to the plugin last used in menu, no crashes anymore, ...) here's my attempt to align the menu in myhome.xml to the left.

I replaced the cursor/click wav file with something a little quieter and less instrusive .. I found the default 'click' sound a little loud and annoying
I've attached a new 'click' wav fileThanks. Here's another mod (bugfix): In myvideo when pausing the title overlaps the description (changed movie name width to 480).

donpipo how do you view the image background, I see only one generic
As Z3us said, if you want to watch the background, you have to enable fanart view in the Myfilms settings. You need to store the image files in the fanart directory with the same name as the movies.
Sorry for my delay.
Now I have been redesigning the basichome menu to add lateral submenus as the original MediaStream skin. As you can see in the screenshots the goal is reached and it works. Tomorrow i will post the file. Obviosly it's not compatible with the menu generator. Nevertheless i think that is posible to add the functionality given that submenu structure is very recurrent.
Now bad news, I am suffering continuous problems with mediaportal 1.0. As you can read in other posts, basichome crashes very often with Aeon, streamMp + Mediaportal 1.0. In my case after browsing a few minutes basichome dies. At first I thought that the problem was because of my mod, but it is also present in the original streamMP. I have tried with different core dlls and the problem only disappears with MP RC 3.

Problem (for me) now is that when you use some plugins and stuff like that, the menu is being just too long and you keep pushing down and up finding the function you want to use.
And for the crashes, I've got exactly the same problems in Aeon and StreamedMP, after some time the basichome menu does not work anymore (only 2 or 3 items still selectable) and then after hovering over the 3 items a few times mediaportal crashes
I'm currently using black and white 1080 skin and here's no problem at all

Maybe Darre could explain if his mod is still working on this version of MediaPortal and StreamedMP, as it uses myhome.xml which seems not to be affected by this problem : https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/337368-post2.html
And even better give some clues to customize it with own labels and text... and other items. Some people prefer a very little menu, myself I prefer a quite huge one with almost everything I use at hand. A generator would be perfect, but maybe that's too much to ask for

As I said, my menu is huge, I have everything I want in basichome and everything has a backdrop of their own. It's the way I like it but I understand it's a matter of taste. But I find very wierd things in Basichome : for instance, yesterday I tried to use the menu generator to add one item to the existing Basichome ... and everything but the new item got wierd. Labels and backdrops got mixed : for instance I had "Mira tus películas" (watch your films) followed by "Escucha tu música" (listen to your music). After adding a new item the labels were something like "Escucha tus películas" (listen to your films) and "Mira tu música" (watch your music) And backdrops were altered in a similar way.
I also have the same issue others talked about before : after watching a film sometimes I try to go back to Basichome and find it empty, no labels or backdrops. Sometimes I try to force it back with the green button on the remote and then labels come back but only when I reach their position on the menu. And after a few minutes MP always crashes. Anyway I didn't find it such a big deal, it's just annoying but I was waiting for a bugfix and bearing this meanwhile. But if Myhome does the work better than Basichome I would give it a try.
