Everything is in SVN, but its worth waiting until Trevor has finalized it first.

I just tried to make my own myhome.xml using the mediastream menu editor and the myhome.xml posted by kiwijunglist, as described in post 2. If I put my modified xml into the mediastream directory it works although it looks a little off, however if I put it into the streamedmp folder it doesn't work, it just shows #prefix#item name etc... Anyone know why?

I think these screens (while nice) do look extremely busy. I tried to do some moving around of objects really quick, and work on the alignments of some objects. I put some red lines on my (really quick an dirty) mockup to show what improvements the alignment changes would make.

Feel free to ignore this though.

interesting shuffle emph, i might do some shuffling today as well. you have to bear in mind you need to support the analog and classic EQ in your mockup as well.

Why? If it was actually representative of the music playing I could see a reason for it, but it isn't, it's just a looped animation - I can't see any reason why it is ever included in any skin

my understanding is the old style eq is looped animation. the new vq meters are actually representative of left/right channel volume.
so we have old style eq / analog vq / digital vq. I think the streamedmp bosses want the default now playing screen to support all of these elements.

I still think it looks way to busy with the meters down there, sorry. I can only imagine how it will look when they're animated/alive as well. Did you try putting them at the top, like in my mockup? I also think that the stars are way too big. But, it's only my opinion. They can be sized down or skinned, right? If you put the digital LED peaks right next to the top overlay, you should see a nice continuation for the direction of the black arrow-shaped overlay that StreamedMP uses I think, from left to right of the screen. And keeping all of the "currently playing" artist/song/album/rating/time in a straight top->down column feel more "natural" to me (like reading a straight list) than your eye searching all over a mixed/horizontal layout.
