Was this ever resolved? Today I upgraded from 1.2.3 to 1.3 RC, and DVB subtitles stopped working. The log is full of subtitle renderer D3DERR_INVALIDCALL exceptions.

@Scythe42 is this part of the rework you're working on? Is this considered a bug?

Need a Mantis. As far as I understood the problem it can be isolated and be treated on its own.

As there were no further comments for a long while, I was left thinking DVB subtitles were no longer going to be supported on XP, and I didn't want to buy Win 7/8 and some new hardware it would've required, so I already switched over to Tvheadend+XBMC on Linux. 
Oh, well, I'm happy with my new setup, so I doubt I'll be coming back. At least I can tell HTPC newbies that this is just a bug and that the subs will be back. Big thanks to developers and the whole community! I really enjoyed MP over the years.

that really sounds like an authorization issue. do you already have an OpenSubtitlesConfiguration.xml in the programfiles\tean mediaportal\subtitledownloaders folder? there you can fill in your credentials. I'm sure it is documented somewhere...

I'm having a strange issue with Subcentral & Subtitle Downloader. Everytime I try to download subtitles the list come out empty...
you are right.. I spotted why it's not working. For what ever reason, the 3x recently added / watched for TV series, etc was killing it.. I've removed it for now and it's started working again. I'll have to dig a little deeper as to why it's happened all of a sudden.

Currently running MediaPortal x64 v1.38.3.0 on Win11 with all recent windows...
I got a similar error yesterday just when a watched episode ended...
Didn't copy the logs unfortunately but now i'm in a weird situation. Trakt website shows that episode as watched, but in onlinevideos (where i watched that episode) it still is not flagged as watched.
