Hi.

I'm using 0.2.3.0 MP for watching tv and scan for channels. I find mostly all channels but not
SVT HD. I's there anything I should change in the Tuningparameters ? When I used TV server
I had to change line 19 and 20 .

    Hi bozzo70,

I believe you need to add another mux to the list of frequencies to scan. I'm at work now and I can't remember what it should be but it is the same freq as for TV Finland. I believe only SVT-HD and TV Finland use this mux and it was not that easy to find out.

You of course need TVE3 and I used PowerDVD h264 codec. It takes quite a lot of CPU but I got it working OK with an AMD 3200+.

I'm managing with a 3000+ in my bedroom HTPC, a dirt cheap ATI HD 2400 does the job like a dream! I wish they started broadcasting a bit more on SVT HD though :(

I can't find svt hd with media portal, the new tv server finds it perfectly and it runs smoothly though. (Using same frequency file)

Swemart: Do you use PowerDVD h264 decoder with DXVA with no problem with your HD2400? I'm thinking of getting one perhaps.. Currently running PowerDVD h264 with NO DXVA since my 7900 GTX makes it stutter slightly when DXVA is enabled. But you have perfectly smooth/stutterfree picture with HD2400 right?

Yes I get a stutter free image, but the bloody card resets it self when exiting the channel. I get the same behaviour in WMP and PDVD as well ....

Bringing up this old thread again...

I was able to tune and watch SVT HD earlier, but after changing too many things and re-installing MP again I can't watch it any more. I use PowerDVD's H.264 codec and I was able to get hardware support from my 780G chip earlier. Now when I try to watch all I get is a black screen. No sound either. When I try to preview it in TVServer Config I get a small 4:3 format window, still black and still no sound.

Do you have any idea what might be wrong here?

I had issues with HD channels since I started to use MediaPortal, then the other day I finally solved the jungle of combinations of codecs, settings etc.
At least for me I got a totally smooth, troublefree HD presentation now, on all HD channels

Settings are as follows (Im using Vista):

    TV Codec:
MPeg2: DScaler (for some reason, Mpeg-2 decoder & Audio Decoder affects HD watching's stability)
h.264: CoreAVC 1.8.5 (Pro license, its only 14 bucks)
    Audio: DScaler

Deinterlacing setting in TV Configure: None

    Rendering: Use EVR not WMR9

CoreAVC Settings (use CoreAVC setting program)
    - Disable output YV12
    - Enable Hardware Deinterlacing

Thanks for the tips. These little pieces of information are really helpful. I would never have guessed that the MPEG2 decoder can affect H.264 playback. I will try again when I get back home tonight.

Anyway, I managed to tune in to the HD channel last night (we only have one free-to-air HD channel), but only by using a different TV card.

It's a bit strange though, because the times when I tested it yesterday it seemed like they were only sending out SD TV on that channel. Can someone with SVT HD confirm that they broadcast quite a bit of SD TV on this channel? Also the logo in the upper right corner says SVT1, which implies that it really isn't SVT HD. When I preview the channel in TVServer Config I get a window that seems to be big enough to fit SD TV only, but at the same time I hear that my CPU fan kicks in, which it doesn't usually do for SD channels. Can someone with SVT HD comment on this?

Concerning the HDHomerun Expand. This has 4 tuners, and is DVB-C It has, of course, latest software from Silicondust already installed, version name 20230713. BDA compatibility mode is set to MediaPortal. Advanced --- BDA driver set to InjectCVCT plus automatically select from tuners recommended.

Ok, so perhaps a solution, but not the "right" solution. On the client, within media portal configuration, under TV settings, advanced options, I switched to UNC paths instead of the default RSS, and it's working very well. Sure I had to figure out the paths, but no big deal. Maybe helpful for someone in the future. Thanks for the...

When I tested MP 2.5 some months ago using TVE3.5, I found that "scan for channels" failed to find any channels when I selected a DVB-T2 tuner (a TBS 6284) :(, but succeeded when I used a DVB-T tuner (a Pinnacle 2000i) :). Obviously the Pinnacle found only those channels broadcast in DVB-T MUXes (in the UK we have both DVB-T MUXes and...

Does anyone else have problem with long (several hours) pauses of TV broadcasts? If I pause and forget, I can still resume TV the next day, but if I try to change channel or stop, MP freezes. Only way to fix is to restart both MP and TV Service. Sometimes I need to restart PC It seems that TVServer cannot proprtly handle large...
