I bought one, it didn't work very well at all so I gave up as I didn't have time to muck about trying to get it to work. TBS seemed to think it was a MP issue rather then their card. This was the PCI version, not PCIe.

    Hi All,

Just a quick update, it looks like I have a problem with my card, I have send a e-mail to TBS asking if it is a known issue with the driver but I'm guessing it's not and the card will need to be replaced.

The problem I have is with LNB port 1 with will not pickup all the channels on 28.2, for example it will not pickup the BBC red button streams on TP 12441 V, but if I use the same coax on LNB port 2 it does without any problems.

LNB port 1 will pick up over 200 channels where port 2 will pick up over 700 using the same cable, LNB and dish.

Here is my findings so far: -

Installaion of the card was fine on WinXP, installed the card, selected the corrected driver for my OS, rebooted the PC, opened TVsetup and the two ports were seen as two different cards, selected card b (port 2) selected the correct Sat and done a channel scan, added the channels to the all channel group, started media portal client and watch the channels.

I have only selected 28.2 with a single LNB, ie Fixed Dish with one LNB, no DiSEqC or Rotor.

The signal streagth is good, and very clear, the channels I have selected look very clear with sharp edges and deep colours when compaired to my Technomate.

Its just a shame I have a problem with port 1.

    Hi
I had a play yesterday and now have mine working fine. I have connected the satellite cable to port one.
When setting it up Mediaportal shows it as 2 identical cards with A & B being the difference.
All the channels I want are on two transponders so have mapped the channels from one transponder to tuner A and the other channels to tuner B. Seems to be better picture than the Huapppauge Nova-S card i was using
I dont know what the secound cable port is for.

TBS have stated that it should be release shortly with a full fix, the driver I have just has a quick patch and it will only work on WinXP x86.

Perhaps... Only way to confirm would be for me to invest in a different USB DVB-S2 tuner (like the Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-S2), which I might do if the issue persists.

It's getting weirder..... If I remove all the IP cards in the TVServer setup and then add them back I can scan the M3u and tune the stations but if I rescan it on the same card it just keeps updating the 1 channel. My brain is melting.........

    MP1 MP2 Card recommendation DE
I have a TBS 6284 PCIE card, which is an older quad-tuner DVB-T/T2 card. The tuners are significantly more sensitive than my Pinnacle 2000i DVB-T dual tuner card (and hence less likely to exhibit pixelation), but noticeably less sensitive than the tuner in my Sony TV. The Pinnacle card has been "rock solid" -- no problems at all. But...
