And maybe additionally change the visible error message to something like "No free card available. Are all channels mapped?"

Maybe just to "This channel is not mapped to any card" if there is no mapping?

Looks like no reception - check the aerial connection.

Can you preview a channel in TV Server Config?

The thing is everything was working OK and it started to give this errors randomly. I haven't changed anything in hardware or software - just updated MP from 1.2.3 to 1.3.0.
But it would happen in TV Server Config as well - could not preview channel in it, but also the Config window would freeze I have to in task manager kill it.

Anyway I'm now doing a fresh Win7 install, will see if it still occurs.

First I did complete uninstall of MP and then made fresh install but it was the same.
Anyway I needed to make clean install of Win.

So far now it is working without any problems.
I really wanted to record something last night (and I did record it) so that's the main reason for quick decision to do a fresh Win install.

Good to hear. Sometimes the weirdest things happens and a fresh start is a good idea.

I am getting the same error after upgrading from 1.2.3 to 1.3.0.

After I upgraded (I did not restart), deleted all my channels, rescanned and was watching TV fine and the EPG came in no problems, turned off PC and went to bed.

This morning turned on the PC and got the 'no free card' message. Under TV-Server Configuration > TV Servers it listing the card (TeVii S480) as an unknown type. Its not enabled nor can I edit it. The name listed is still correct.

Inside Windows control panel the TV tuner card is showing up fine no errors. If I run DVBDream I can still watch TV.

Any ideas off the top of you head?

I'll post some logs when I get home.
