Very similar to what i did for my parents HTPC:

    AM2 Athlon64 X2 4200+ EE (TH use a 3800+)
    Asus M2NPV-VM ( same )
    2GB 667Mhz DDR2 (TH use 533Mhz ram)
320GB Western Digital 3200KS (TH use the Seagate's 7200.10 which are rumored to be quite noisy(it was the 7200.9 that was quiet)).
Antec NSK2400 case ( TH use the much more expensive Zalman HD135 )
    Stock cooler with Q-Fan enabled.

Well, I've got the 7200.9 and I can't say they are totally silent. When I transfer something to it and it has to write something it almost sounds like my old Maxtor (as in a lot of crackle and pop). I read that samsung drives are also supposed to be quite noisefree, sadly haven't had time to try one out yet, still trying to get money to spend on a dualcore cpu.

Built same for a friend - exept using a 3200+ and the Seagate .10 (Samsung was out of stock).

If you bought the optical bracket: Did you get the S/PDIF to work?

I am running a Xubuntu machine as a server with all my movies and series on it, I run a VirtualBox VM with Windows 10 installed on the virtual machine and MP1 client installed on that. MP runs fine on the VM but I no longer have a tv tuner to test if passthrough is possible. I don't think it would work anyway.

Got a reply from SD ... "Looks like your last successful download was on 5/23. On 5/24 for some reason we received 194 connections between 10:54 and 11:05 triggering a denial of service attack ban. The logs show it was lifted on 5/25, but I still see the entry in iptables. I reset fail2ban and hopefully you're working again." Weird...

Fixed, I think. Certainly the vintage MP2 installer that I was using no longer installs the LAV filters. I can only assume that these were never part of the install package itself, but rather downloaded during the install, and that link no longer exists. Shame that the installer doesn't indicate this. Last time when I installed the...
