One question for cul8er and other x-factor users. Which homescreen is used? Myhome or basichome? If both, do neither display the issue of this thread?

    1) All of them are Jpeg.
    1) Couple of hundred
    3) StreamedMP, i don't know any other skin that uses backdrops in basic home view (Aeon used this, but no longer supported)
    4) No Tv-Server installed TV-server with MSSQL. I installed it by mistake, but i don't use TV. By the way, how can i uninstall TVServer by not uninstalling whole mediaportal?
    5) Nearly all of them are Full-HD resolution, so is my TV.
    6) No, i've put images by categories to its directories under skin.

    I'll convert the images to PNG and observe this happens (if i got the time).

    For me this is still persisting, had a slight hope 1.02 might fixed this already upgraded, no diff.
    I also tested if png works better, it doesn't.
    I'm getting kinda clueless. The only real difference with happy's setup is that I do use tv (fortherecord).

    p.s.

    I still think it's not a skin thing because I have the same thing going on when I tried putting in my version of the streamedmp aeon basichome mod.

    Yup, tested it just now, same deal. It has less memory usage to start off with but that's about it.

    I have a working solution, although ugly as hell, here goes;

    Download this tool;
    Free Software Downloads and Software Reviews - Download.com
    It's a RAM optimizer. Never really believed in these tools but for this issue it works!!!

    I've just set it too free RAM when getting across a threshold. It seems do to it perfectly although I have not tested this extensively.

    Such tools won't ever work. Most likely you are seeing that some memory is freed up, but in the end OS will push the "leaked" memory in the page file.

    All that such "tools" could do is to reduce the cache memory usage as OS will free the cache memory first when applications are requesting more free memory. Something that doesn't benefit anyone.

    How those tools "work"? They simply are allocating huge amounts of memory that will cause OS to free up cache and push some application data to the virtual memory. To user it looks like they would be freeing some memory but it is not the reality.

    I haven't tested this properly yet so tourettes your explanation seems solid, believe you on that point.
    I was just looking at this again trying to fix it, this sort off tool popped in my mind to give it a try. It does lower the allocated memory of mediaportal when looking at taskmanager so I figured; it seems to do it's job.

    So this is no solution. Do you have a better one? And don't say do not use that much images, that skin, or that absolute folder path :) I know I'm picky, lol, but I really like the looks of my current system. If it was just performing right, I'd be a happy camper!
