Hi MM1352000,

if you a working on the CAM improvement - please take a look on the Technotrend part also. I guess there is something with the CI which doesn't always run smoothly, too :)

Thanks

Joe

    Hi again everyone :)

Yes, that is set up. I have the "CI Menu" tab available, also.

I have attached a tv.log for trying to open the ci module, but I guess you know all that already :)
If there's anything I can do to help, let me know.
Yes, what I see in your logs is the same thing that I see happen when I try to open the CAM menu on my SkyStar HD2 when I use the TerraTec Cinergy drivers. Having said that, I'd encourage you to try the patch that I posted for paalkr. I'll be posting a more public thread for testing in the development section quite soon as I think my changes are quite stable. Right now I'm looking for as much feedback as possible so I can investigate any problems and get the improvements into TV Server as soon as possible.

Although my double H7 tuner setup works 95% atm, it's always good to get things working more smoothly.

The only trouble I have is that approx 50% of the time I start Live TV, the screen is black - sometimes with sound and sometimes without sound from the tuned channel.
If I choose another channel, the channel often shows but not always.
The most certain fix is to enter TV meny and to turn TV off and then on again - and the channel showing only a black screen then shows.
This may be related to the problem that paalkr has, but it might also be related to your CAM, codecs or plugins. You'd also be welcome to test this new patch. I think you would need to upgrade to newer drivers though. In fact, this patch may help with the problems that were described in the other thread too. Rather than blaming TerraTec I think it would be helpful to actually post logs with the new drivers since nobody actually did that in the other thread. I'm not able to supply that patch forever...

It is my intention to refactor and improve the code for all cards. I've done that for TBS/Prof, and I'm basically finished with Twinhan/TerraTec/TechniSat/DigitalRise and KNC/Mystique/Satelco. After that I'm going to move onto other code. Technotrend will come at some point however I also want to add support for lots of new tuners too...

    Hi!

I have now tried the patched TVlibrary, and unfortunately I can't manage to get it work correctly. I tried to

    1. Open CI menu for the Terratec H7 -> nothing happens, but the TVservice stops (crashes).
    2. Tune to an encrypted channel -> message about unknown error has occurred and the TVservice stops (crashes).

    Please find logfiles attached.

    Regards,
    PK

    Hi again

paalkr: sorry I don't understand what is going on. I had these same problems when I posted patches for TBS support. I think I'm going to have to build full installers - not really what I wanted but it seems to be the only way to guarantee that all the DLLs and EXEs are consistent.

Benjamin: are you using the latest driver from TechniSat? Unless I integrate the patch from the other thread it seems that you won't be able to try this patch.

    Hi,
I’ve got the same issues that paalkr describe. In contrast to paalkr I’m running Terratec H7 on the Norwegian Canal Digital cabelnetwork in Norway. Are we using the same CAM – mine is marked “Strong Canal Digital Strong Pairing CAM for Canal Digital” and I got it October 2011, it has no model number.

I’ve got this problem since I’ve started using Mediaportal, and got the same problem occurring at both the Terratec H7 and the Terratec Cinergy C HD with CI.

    My finding:
Terratech Home Cinema: Can’t reproduce the error.
4TheRecord: Can reproduce the error. When selecting the same channel again it starts the second time. If I watch on channel, push stop, select a new channel, it always starts without error. So it seems like Argus handle the card/CAM in a different way than the MPTVServer.

    Regarding TVLibrary.dll-patch in #17 by mm1352000:
I installed this as described, and the server is running fine so far. Haven’t yet reproduced the error. It doesn’t crash as with paalkr – I unblocked the .dll-file before restarting the server – don’t know if that is relevant? The CI-menu behave as earlier – no menu turn up neither in TV-server-management or the MP tv plugin.

    Mm1352000:
Don’t know if it’s a useful idea – do you want to use Teamviewer to my htpc to work with the actual hardware and cabelnetwork? Just PM me.

I see. Does anyone have that driver for download? If I check here the download is named for the DVB-C, but it contains only drivers for DVB-S cards.

    Kind regards,
    Benjamin

The 1.1 software package here contains the most up-to-date drivers I think. Maybe a mistake on the German version of their website. I've attached the driver for you. I'm not certain that this driver is going to solve the problem. In fact I'm guessing it may not solve the problem. I have emailed TechniSat recently about a different issue. If I get a response I will try to get them to update their driver. In the meantime I'll also start to prepare a combined patch in case the driver doesn't work...

    Hi aat

Thanks for the report. Teamviewer access definitely could be useful but I have limited time at the moment and also a rather limited internet cap. It would be really helpful if you could post logs...

    Log Files - MediaPortal Wiki

Please follow the instructions for non-reproducible problems. It should only take a minute or two and that will tell me whether you are experiencing the same problem that I have seen when I use TerraTec drivers.

    Hi mm.

Okay, maybe I have a different hardware after all... My USB Vendor ID is 14F7, the same as the one in the driver, but my Product ID is 0003, while the driver mentions only 0001 and 0002.
I will try simply adding the PID 0003 to the .inf file and check if that works.
