OK CoreAVC should work for you guys that wanna use it.
Just make sure it's the highest merit if you have another H.264 capable decoder on your system.

Use MediaPortal and or TVServer SVN14913 or later.

that shouldn't be the case always with DirectShow Filters?

I mean the one with the highest merit should always be used in MediaPortal

    Yes if it's pin compatible.
If the decoder is not pin compatible DS will look for one that is or fail to build the graph correctly.
I have adjusted the demuxing to be pin compatible with Core AVC.

I was very happy to read this, but unfortunately it still does not work for me.
Installed the latest svn+tv server but the ts file still does not play - to be mor precise it plays the sound, but the screen stays black (no video).
It seems that mediaportal takes the Descaler filter instead of the coreavc filter.
I reduced the descaler merit to low and coreavc to highest with the filtermanager, but the result stayed the same. (see log)
    I'm using coreavc 1.3.0.0

Graphedit still shows the same error for me (see page 5)

If you want to watch live H.264 TV streams you need TVServer. Standard MediaPortal using DVR-MS timeshifting & recording and will not work.
Your log suggest TVServer client is not installed.

No I tried to playback a ts (using my videos) that I recorded manually with tvserver 3.
I now installed the client plug in as well and tried to playback the recorded ts with the same result (see MediaPortalPlaybackTS.log).
Then I tried to watch a hd channel under tv with this result:
    tvhdwa6.jpg

    (see MediaPortalTVHD.log)
Since the tv engine 3 client plugin does not work as carefree and seamless as the tvengine 2 I will still continue using the tvengine 2 and manually record the hd channels in tvserver 3.
A playback of avc hd .ts files under my videos would be very nice however.

    Couple of things...

    1. Check the registered location of tsfilesource.ax

Ensure the size of that file is 928KB

    2. If this is correct record a 30second clip and post it somewhere for me.

The size of tsfilesource.ax is 928KB.
It's in the MediaPortal dir and the TV Server dir.
What's the name of tsfilesource.ax in the FilterManager and where can it be found - so I can check if it's registered (regsrv32)
The link to the sample is in the PM I sent.

BugsBunny: I experienced the same thing with CoreAVC 1.3.0 (it look exactly like your screen shot) with SVN 14915. The strange thing is that CoreAVC 1.2.0 does work (but generates a lot of artefacts). I' am currently using the Cyberlink codec from PowerDVD 7.3 that seems to work ... but changing between HDTV (H.264) and normal PAL channels does still not work properly. Mp is hanging completely if I try this...
