Beags,

Save this text as type .py

It's a Python script.

Follow BKCH's instructions.

If you're not a programmer, then it might be a bit beyond you - no offence!

I am, and still can't get it working.

Thanks Voxmortis
No offence taken. im not a programmer, but i can usually get things working. I wonder if the compiled version of xmltv.exe will work grabbing the info from tvguide.org.
I had problems in the past using pearl & a nice person on the promixis forums pointed me to this site
http://forums.gbpvr.com/showthread.php?t=8409
after following the instructions, worked a treat until a few days ago :(

Thanks again for your reply

TV guide for Aussies using TVxb and yahoo

"eBroadcast (ourguide.com.au) recently made changes to this site to deter the use of grabbers such as TVxb. If you look at the schedule html - you will see that is has been "encypted" and a javascript is needed to unlock the coding. So TVxb is not able to process this site." - (thanks to Bill from TVxb Support for the heads-ups about yahoo)

The following is the TVxb.ini file for Sydney channels using yahoo.
(I also have an ini file for Bathurst)

NOTE: I had to experiment with the time zone a bit. Finally setting it to +0000 and then compensating in MP setup by 24hrs.

MP Won't import "Showtime 2" (SHW2) channel from tvguide.xml obtained from http://tvguide.org.au. The data is there in the tvguide.xml but Media Portal simply won't acknowledge it's existence :(

The other problem is that I am not getting any data in the download for "Movie One Take Two" channel from http://tvguide.org.au which strikes me as being a tad strange since the Showtime 2 (SHW2) channel data is there.

I've checked and rechecked my python script and config and can't spot a problem.

Has anyone else come across either of these problems?

Hi, I have been using D1xmltvgrabber since I first started using MP with no problems, until now. Has anyone else experienced problems downloading data from D1 recently? The error I get says dataset cannot be null. Its as if they no longer post the data or have changed the location.

Any help is appreciated

Some more info would be nice...what region, which provider(s) ?

EDIT: It looks like D1 have disabled or killed off their XMLTV service - their web service is no longer returning any data. It may be temporary, as this means their media centres don't work either unless they have an alternative service somewhere.

Its probably easier and more reliable to move onto the tvguide.org.au data given the recent troubles with D1. I'll most likely knock together a .NET-based grabber for that for those who want to avoid the python-based solution, otherwise, just try the solution posted above.

Well, I had already recognized your problem, but I still wanted to point out the basic connections once again. Unfortunately, I don't have a fundamentally different solution for you, but with this approach you should achieve your goal. ;) The idea of first setting the current genre colors with the defines is certainly a good one, as...

I used to use the grabber but a few years back it disappeared on FreeSat DVBS. That is when I changed to EPG Collector. The extra benefit is that it collects from the Sky platform so it will give EPG for all the FreeSat channels plus the unencrypted movie channels on the Sky platform. It also allows me to pick the channels dedicated...

Hi This is a general question about OnX. I have been using the TvWishList plugin for a while and have recently updated (update install) from MP 1.36 x86 to 1.37 x86 and found there seemed to be no Onx menu in the TV guide. I then configured the onx.presets.xml file like I would normally do with updates or fresh installs, but still...

How does the Timezone flag work? What input is it looking for? I went through the source code and all I saw was "America/New_York." I tried "America/Chicago" but still getting GMT times in the xmltv.xml file. Edit: Got this figured out. In the XmlTv plugin, you need to select "Apply timezone compensation when loading tvguide.xml" and...
