It would be nice if there were somewhere where you could select the numbers of channels to view in the TV Guide.
Say you f.ex. only have 5 or 7 tv channels...

You can do that right now - only the channels with a (green) tick in the tick-box will be displayed in the EPG - this is in Configuration / Television / Channels... :)

You will probably find that all your channels are currently selected - just remove the tick from the ones you don't want included in the EPG display.

No, if I do that the channels will be repeated in the empty lines. I want to remove them and OLNY view 5 channels

    Yes

Just what I was thinking of. But why are there no such setting in MP?

Would it be hard to make? - No.
Would it make MP even more userfriendly? - Yes.

I know there are major issues to work on, but with more userfriendly software, MP becomes more interesting than what the competitor has to offer.
I would really like to see more HTPCs with MP than Microsoft Media Center. THAT would make my day. And that is why I want to find as many small details to make MP for everyone.

    1. I'm not a programmer. If you are; then make it 8)
    2. Most ppl have more channels than us..... :?

For 99% of the pll this will mean "nada"/nothing

Also: Which "competitors"? MCE? I belive that there is no competiton which have what MP does; It's free, evolving every week, user friendly +++

A friend of mine bought MCE. He knows little about computers and software.
He now uses XP MCE only as a shell for MP.

Thank you for pointing out that my analysis may be less than accurate. :p Although the change to TV channel 71 may not also have been applied to the independent radio channels (different MUXes), the logs that I prepared for one of the development team does show a difference between channel 704 ("BBC Radio 4") and channel 731...

I used to use the grabber but a few years back it disappeared on FreeSat DVBS. That is when I changed to EPG Collector. The extra benefit is that it collects from the Sky platform so it will give EPG for all the FreeSat channels plus the unencrypted movie channels on the Sky platform. It also allows me to pick the channels dedicated...

Hi there, since I changed TV and HTPC's CPU, I'm wondering if this guide: Guide could be considered still good today, since it's been almost 13 years since then and it's still referring to a resolution of 1080p? I say this because I have a new Panasonic 4K HDR TV, and with that settings, even if I have an old Gygabyte GPU (bought...

Thanks very much, Jasmeet. Worked. But note that this setting has moved, apparently, to: Settings > TV (not Plugins)
