The TVService.exe does NOT autostart any more, if the PC is started up. The start type of TVService.exe is set to "automatic". However, it does not start up automatically.

    Step-by-step description:
    1. Start PC from scratch (PC was powered off before)
    2. Wait until MP is up and running
    3. Select MyTV
    4. After a long time, MP shows the screen to enter the servers IP address.
Note: I am using single seat with the loopback adapter installed (IP address 192.168.1.1).
    5. Exit MP and save traces
    6. Start TVServer setup
    7. TVServer setup tells "TVServer not started, shall it be started"
    8. Select "yes" and wait until the seutp window is visible
    9. Exit TVServer setup and start MP again
    10. Now MyTV works perfectly

This issue has already been discussed earlier:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/tv_service_doesnt_autostart-t22225.html?t=22225&highlight=automatically

It was solved but now it seems to be back.

    Please find below the logs.

Is anybody from the devs looking into this? Can I do anything to support this (new logs, description of exact configuration)?

This is really my biggest issue right now... beside this, MP is better than ever and I love the new TsReader!

I'll try it again: The TVServer.exe is not starting up anymore, if the PC is started up from power off (tested with yesterdays SVN and all SVNs of the last few days). This has worked in my setup before.

With this bug, the TVService has to be started manually after every startup.

Any comment, even "We are aware of this and working on it" from a MP developer would be helpful.

    Thanks.

It looks like there is a code problem with the dependencies of the TVservice failing with respect to the database startup with MS-SQL (I don't use MY-SQL so can't check this part)

It started around 15207 SVN with w2ksp4 and a few releases on for vista and xp.

ok, we have 303 views in this thread and at least 4 do have this major issue.

Can any of the devs please let us know, if somebody is looking into this or if this will be done after 0.2.3 final? I am looking into this tread daily and would like to get at least a hint...

    Thanks,

    Andreas

I am also having problems with the TVSERVICE not starting automatically. I have no messages in the Windows Event Viewer, and no MP log messages.

    Can you confirm:

    - Whether you have set the TVSERVICE to autostart?
    - Whether you have any MP/TVSERVER messages in the Windows Event Viewer?
    - Whether you have any MP/TVSERVER log messages?

This will confirm whether we are experiencing the same problem.

For me, all your questions are already answered in post #1. I think the issue is the dependency between TVService.EXE and MS SQL as SiDoctor posted in post 6.
