    That is a different problem.
My guess is that you are not using v1.0.0.0 but rather one of the later SVN's?
The download of IRSS is not yet compatible with the later releases than 1.0.0.0. I had to manually recompile the TV3blaster dll to get it working with latest SVN. The problem was already fixed in the IRSS SVN, but we do not yet have a public available version of it.

thanks for your reply, do you mind sending me the dll you compiled? I don't really know how to compile it myself.

For this first round, I do not even want you to open MediaPortal or do anyting with other plugins. All must be done from within TVServer config. I do not want the log files cluttered with other stuff.

    Hi rekenaar,

I have cleared the logs and started TV Server Config. After I tried the Preview of a channel I closed the TV server Config and looked at the logs. I found in the error log that it could not open ExternalChannelSettings1.xml (or something similar). I realized that I have not defined the STB to IR settings/mappings. (I really embarrassed that I have forgotten something so simple )

After I have defined the mappings, I am able to change channels etc from within the MP interface. So, the major part of my problem is solved.

I let MP run for a day and record some shows etc. Now, I seem to run into a problem similar to what I have described in this thread (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/.../irss-loses-learnt-ir-codes-frequently-52824/). It is not exactly the same but some of the IR codes do not blast. The back button (equivalent of the esc key on the keyboard) on the remote does not work I think this has got something to do with the fact that my PC woke up from S3 suspend. After, I have restarted the Input Service everything seems to be fine.

Is there a solution for Input Service not working after resuming from S3 state?

So rekanaar, how do you want your $50?

    Thanks for all your support.

OK. I am now back to where I was about a month ago with IRSS 1.4.2. As reported here (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/.../irss-loses-learnt-ir-codes-frequently-52824/) my 100% working IR codes suddenly stop working. I had to relearn them. I am attaching both IR codes.

The file IR Command_FirstLearn.zip has the IR commands that I had learnt the first time and it was working until a few minutes ago. Even though the STB was not responding, the IR codes were blasted because I can see the STB blinking.

The file IR Command_ReLearn.zip has the IR commands that I had to teach again and now my STB responds to the IR blasts.

Can somebody tell me why this happens? What is the solution to this problem?

    Hi There Rekenaar.

Im having the same issue with IRSS and the latest SVN, I get the Failed to start local comms etc error.
Any chance of you posting your fixed .dll for me to try?

    Dankie

Also getting "Failed to start local comms" error

Hello rekenaar and all the other experts,

I am also getting the same error as Skoka got in the first place. In the TV-Server Config, when I click on TV3 Blaster Plugin for I Server, I get an error messege "Failed to start local comms. IR functions temporariliy disabled". After that, the plugin config page does not apper, so I cannot go on configuring it.

I am using the latest IRSS - Test Build 1.4.2.2627. Using the IRSS debug tool I do mange to learn and blast my STB, but the TV-server config just give me this error. To be sure, I have done a total uninstall of IRSS, rebooted, killed the TV-server and reinstalled IRSS, but It did not help, I still get the same error.
I have a Hauppauge PVR-15MCE card, with a USB MCE remote & blaster.

Here are the last lines from the log file Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log\tv.log:
