tv3 engine isn t work correctly on same machine as mp! (1 Viewer)

i installed tv3 engine with the wiki as guide. i have a single machine. all settings seem to be working. then, i installed MediaPortal Client Plugin. now mp should let me choose the tvserver by typing ip adress or name. and this isn t working! mp , is starting normaly. i can t configure it as clinet to connect tv server running on the same machine like in this instructions: http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/TV-Engine_0.3/config-Client.

it just start normal as there is no tv server. if i installed the client in the same dir then mp is installed, mp is hanging at the load plugin screen....


so i don t know what to do....

hope anyone can help me.

I doubt if you will get much help without any system specification or log files attached ...

Are you sure it is starting TV2? If there are buttons for streams it is actually running TV3.

If you are running in single seat configuration with the TV3 engine and the client on the same machine there is no need to add the tvserver name or ip address. MP finds the TV server on the current machine and automatically configures this part on the setup.

yeah, its starts now. and it seems to use tv engine. the problem is now, that i have no channels to choose, even if i end mp and start it again. there are no channels at all. i have made a full scan and many channels in the tv engine. but if i start media portal, there is no channel to choose...

so, something is wrong. hope you can help me...

you MUST install the client plugin into the MediaPortal Folder.

so you then have 2 foders
1. mediaPortal TVServer
2. MediaPortal (which contains MediaPortal 0.2.3.0 and the TV-Server Client plugin)

at first you need to start the TV-Server by clicking at the shrortcut it created in your start -> menu -> applications
after you finished configuration, you start MediaPortal.
give MP some time on the first start.


IT WILL NOT ASK YOU FOR THE IP ADRESS OF THE TVSERVER!

because it detects the tvservice which is running on your PC.

so whats to do?

after about 10 minutes hanging on plugin loading screen, its starts
if i go on my tv, there is no channel group to choose.
it just playing pro7 and if i go on channel to choose an other channel, i get an empty list, with no channels to choose...

i think, i am very close to get it working, but not close enough.=)

and do you use Microsoft SQL express or MySQL ?

no step in teh wiki says "install both"

based on the log you have added your tv-cards in "MediaPortal Configuration" AND in TV-Server.
this is not correct and causes your issues!

i strongly suggest that you uninstall "everything" and then watch and follow -> https://www.team-mediaportal.com/tv-server_tutorial.html

deinstall now everyting and install it new following the steps from the links. thank you.

the wiki says this:

Database server Requirements

Microsoft SQL Server 2005
Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition
Additional (but recommended) SQL Server Management Studio Express
MySQL 5
MySQL GUI Tools


and exactly this i have installed. so i have both becouse i followed the instructions.

as far as i can test, i give you feedback, if it runs now.
