I would like to req a feature. Unrar support like in XBMC. In XBMC you can just select a .rar file and access the media-file contained and play it away. Would this be possible in Media Portal too?

What would be the purpose of this?

Not trying to speak for biggles here, but the reason is that most stuff you download from the web tends to come packed in rar archives.

    So yeah, good feature request.

I agree. This feature would be great.

Even integrating an unrar function rather then just reading what's in the rar files would be quite nice. Not sure how hard it would be to integrate that, but it would definitely be a welcomed feature. :)

Well, to throw in my own 2 cents, this is something I would never use. If anything, it should be a plugin so as not to bloat MP with features that not everyone would use.

Yeah, a plugin would do the trick. I'm sorry if I asked in the wrong forum, but as you see, I'm pretty new at Mediaportal.

Downloaded TV-shows seems to come packed in rar-files most of the time and for shows your not keeping (read my fiance's favorite Gilmore Girls), it is just a waste of time unraring them. Maybe there are some clues in the XBMC source...

Hello, I would like to use a media server to display various learning categories. I prefer not to use software like Kodi, as it requires extensive metadata scraping that I don't need. The reason I was thinking I needed more RAM is that TV now seems to be HiDef and so the files have grown. I edit the files before storing them, to reduce some size. It is finding that slower, I think. Or it could just be because I'm expecting more? The Baseboard manufacturer says ASUSTech Computer Inc; Baseboard product P7P55D-E...

Hi, First off: there are some issues with the latest Mediaportal (32bits vs 64bits), so that is one of the issues you're stumbling with. If you take the previous version (1.31) it should work as expected. For IPTV there is also a different option (with different pros and cons): Onlinevideos. I'm using that sometimes for my IPTV as...

@Pablik I finally got back to this, and I got it working. What I did was this. I intended to copy the UHD-BR disc to my local hard drive, so I put the disc in the drive, and then brought up MakeMKV. In MakeMKV I went through the initial steps to copy the UHD-BR disc to my drive, and while MakeMKV was parsing the disc, I noticed a...
