Normally with this branch we don't need to install thing manually :) (if all works like it should lol)

    Hi.
    1. Use web installer in http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/installer/ (mysql-installer-web-community-5.6.11.0.msi) 2. Make sure you install MySQL Workbench too 3. make sure you give "root" user a password "MediaPortal". 4. Use MySQL Workbench to give user "root" access from everywhere (that is "permission" %)
Nearly did the same, only difference is that I've used the full downloaded version (downloaded on other place). Due to my slow internet, I avoid web installers as often as possible...

A quick question, as a tester did you try that branch ? :)
To see/know if it works for you :)
Or maybe you doing that before that branch comes out ?

But I've used 1.3 Final so no MySQL 5.6 there by default...
I wanted to try this branch but as I can't import channels, groups and schedules from 1.3 so I reinstalled 1.3 TV Server for now. Had not enough time to scan all channels, create all groups and add all channels to those groups again. TV Server needs to run most of the time here. I will try to update this 1.3 Install later (next week or so), maybe this works...

    Hi.
Yep, "export.xml" created by 1.3 final could not be imported in this branch... And the file is ok as I can import it in 1.3 Server without issues.

Did you try installer from first post or create an new installer based on GIT Branch ?
I have updated the GIT Branch recently to match 1.3 :) so maybe the one on first post is too old :)

Just FYI, I've been using MySQL 5.5 with InnoDB (custom installed) for a long *long* time. I don't anticipate there will be functional problems.
