If you want to fix the translations, you've to head over to Transifex, create an account, and join a language team at the MediaPortal project. Your account should be approved in about a day, and then you can start changing translations. I usually update translations right before each release, but I've already packaged 0.5.3 so it'll end up in 0.5.4.

Or just ask @azzuro who's the manager for french translation to make the modification ;-)

Ok but I thing that a better contribution for the plugin and the community is to register myself on Transifex and make the modifications for the next release than to modify only on my own setup.

Using the site is free, you only have to pay if you want them to translate your texts.

Am I wrong or "TV-Server" string for the menu button isn't in the translation file (neither in UIStrings.fr.resx or transifex)?
In french "Serveur TV" or "Télevision" should be better.

When I find some time to properly test it, so that we can avoid the 0.5.2 drama.

That's because "TV-Server" isn't a string used in the default skin. There is no good solution for translating texts from skins yet.
