Hello again,

I have reread all the postings and my conclusion is that the VFD in the silver version of Antec Fusion case IS NOT supported.

Is this correct, then?

I was looking forward to use your plugin :(

Best Regards,

Mikael

I suggest that you read the forum over again....

The Antec Fusion v1 case with VFD is supported.... I have one and use it with the plugin without any issues...

The hardware just doesn't support any bells and whistles...

There is also a problem with the updated SG_VFD.dll file. People are complaining that their remote doesn't work anymore with this newer version...

I think we should remove this dll from the MP home folder and use the one in the Soundgraph drivers' folder instead. Can you check where it can be found? If it is located in the windows system32 folder then we don't need any path at all. If it is located in a soundgraph specific folder then we should check whether that path remains the same between different soundgraph drivers versions and use that path instead...

The SG_VFD.dll does not interact with the IR hardware at all.... The SG_RC.dll (which the display driver does not use unless it is manually copied to the mediaportal directory) is responsible for communication with the IR Hardware.

Has there been any changes to the keyboard shortcuts in recent SVNs?? The VFD.exe or iMON.exe executable translates all remote control keypresses into keyboard keypresses... If the keyboard shortcuts have changed then that could result in the remote not operating as desired.

The SG_VFD.dll is installed into one of two locations.... C:|Program Files\ANTEC\VFD\ for the Antec software or C:\Program Files\SOUNDGRAPH\iMON\ for the other manufacturers (SilverStone, Thermaltake, etc)... So far, the location has not changed... It is even the same for the current beta releases...

The problems I have seen people inquiring about have been related to The Harmony Universal remotes... I haven't seen any posts about the IR hardware not working... If I've missed them, please point me in the right direction and I'll see if I can help...

    Hi,

I have the same issue with latest svn, remote doesn't respond.
Replacing SG_VFD.dll with old one from Mediaportal RC2 make the remote working again.

    Windows XP SP2
    Thermaltake VC4000 with imon inside - Asus M2N32 SLI Deluxe - Athlon X2 4000+ - 1 Go RAM -
    Geforce 8500 - HD 500 Go - Nova-T

    cybrmage,

I'm not able to have my imon VFD working using the latest SVN from Media Portal.
I would like to know if there is a debug DLL to have a detailed log of what's happening on my machine.

Also I can find 3 drivers: "imon VFD", "Soundgraph VFD/LCD driver...", "Soundgraph imon VFD 1.0".

If the VFD/LCD driver is supposed to work with all diplay from Soundgraph aka IMON, why not to delete the old ones and avoid users making confusion on those drivers ?

    Hi CybrMage,
excuse me if I post my logs only now but my job kept me away from my HTPC for almost two weeks... :(
Anyway now I'm here. In the attachment you'll find my log: I powered on the system and started Mediaportal, then I waited until it went into hiberantion because of Powerscheduler's timeout and then powered it up again. After that I shut down Mediaportal and copied the log. After going in hibernation the display was always freezed.
    Thank you very much.

I found that reverting to 0.2.3.0 RC2 ( no SVN) I can have my VFD working as easy as enabling the external display plugin and then choising "Soungraph iMON VFD USB driver 1.0", nothing else.

Why is so complicated in the SVN tree ? ( DLL to copy by hand, parameters to input by hand and so on... )

I did some indepth tests with my iMON VFD from Silverstone.

    Fresh install of version 0.2.3.0 RC2 ( no SG_RC.dll, SG_VFD.DLL 3.71.1202 ): OK:D
    Upgrade 0.2.3.0 SVN 08-Oct-2007 ( no SG_RC.dll, SG_VFD.DLL 5.10.1201 ): NOT WORKING:mad:
    Copied SG_VFD.DLL from Soundgraph directory ( SG_VFD.DLL 6.20.0829 ): NOT WORKING:mad:
    Overwritten the DLL with the one from 0.2.3.0 ( SG_VFD.DLL 3.71.1202 ): OK:D

So i beleve that on 5.x and 6.x DLL versions some call changed and this is why you don't see any error but still have no VFD working.

I suggest to have a SG_VFD.DLL 3.71.1202 and a SG_LCD.DLL 5.10.1201 or even 6.20.0829 this will help a lot of people to avoid loosing time finding the right dll version.

As for the SG_RC.DLL due to is usage limited to the autodetect, I will sugest avoiding using it and create two entry one for "Soundgraph LCD driver" and one for "Soundgraph VFD driver".

Also take care that if I use the "Soungraph iMON VFD USB driver 1.0" in 0.2.3.0 RC2 is working fine, as far as I update to the latest SVN of 10-08-2007 I receive a red question mask saying hardward not identified.

The SVN is still the test environment... If you want stability stick to the official release versions...

We put new things in it so people can test it and report problems, which we then try to solve...

Then your display is the older Soundgraph VFD and not the newer LCD. The new driver we are working on is an attempt to support both. The other VFD driver is an LCDHype driver. For some people that one works better than the one you are using.

I find it strange though that in your Soundgraph folder there is a driver version (SG_VFD.DLL 6.20.0829) that I thought is for the newer LCD display...
