Can you add a reset default values button please ?

I'll think about it 8-}
It seems to happen only when MP is starting with windows.

Funny things happen when MediaPortal starts with windows... I'm looking into it...

here are the logs(maybe you will find something cause i didn't)

Nope... Didn't find anything wrong...

But... I've added an option to restrict the update rate to the display (It's the only thing I can think of... that the data rate is killing the display)... give the test version a try (attached) and see if it makes a difference... run configure and select the "Limit Equalizer display update rate" in advanced settings...

Regards,
CybrMage

Chemelli: Could you also post the mediaportal.log from MediaPortal run normally (ie: not started with windows)... Thanks!

    Here attached.

    I checked the log and found three strange things:

    2007-11-05 00.19.48.261325 [Info.][MPMain]: iMONLCDg.iMONDisplay.Initialize(): Forcing OS Search Path to: C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\process\ProcessPlugins.dll\sg_vfd.dll

    2007-11-05 00.19.48.481325 [Debug][ExternalDisplay]: IDisplay(API) iMONLCDg.Setup() - RC TEST returned DRVR: ffffffffffffffff, FW: ffffffff (HW: 0), RC_HW: ffffffff, RF: 0

    2007-11-05 00.19.48.484325 [Debug][ExternalDisplay]: IDisplay(API) iMONLCDg.Setup() - Display Type could not be determined

    Thanks cybrmage that did the trick

    FINALLY!!!! 9-} Glad it's working for you... Looks like the display can't keep up with the maximum update rate...

    The test driver limits the EQ display to 10 updates per second... (My system (Laptop, Intel T2050) can do a maximum of 40 updates per second... )

    Does the EQ display look smooth?? (It may need more that 15 updates a second to appear smooth, but I decided to be on the cautious side with the limit...)

    If you want to try to find out just how much data your display can handle... I'll add an option to let you select the maximum update rate...

    I noticed the second and third in the previous logs... That's why I requested the logs for a regular run of MediaPortal...

    Will check it ASAP...

    Well, I'm glad to tell you the plugin doesn't cause the sound problem, it still excists after disabling the plugin.
    However, I cannot get the equaliser to appear, when should I see it? after a few seconds when playing a mp3? movie files too?
    Just to make clear that's all.

    The Equalizer should appear as soon as music starts playing... It only works for music, and only when the BassAudioEngine is the music player.

    Are you using a current (or very recent) SVN? The changes to the bassaudio.cs only made it to SVN a few days ago.

    I'm using yesterdays SVN, so should be alright.
    Will do a clean install to make sure I got basic settings and nothing else is causing it.

    [edit]
    I did a clean install, and no equaliser.
    Even tried to reinstall my soundcard drivers, but that made it even worde: got no sound at all anymore nown and I need to rely on my workstation, aargh.
    Needless to say I won't be testing this any further on vista.

    Hi,

    no, it's not a bus-problem. If MP is closed, the display stays off fine. But if I choose MCE Standby Tool to shut down MP on hibernate, I'm loosing the possibility to use PowerScheduler.

    I tested three different driver versions:

    iMON_6_01_0122
    iMON_6_01_0202
    iMON_6_20_0830

    The problem also occurs with the "standard"- ProcessPlugins.dll, and it's gotten worse:
    at the moment, the content of the display freezes after hibernate, and even after waking up,
    the displays content is not refreshed.

    If I hibernate manually, the display shuts off, stays off. But MP crashes on resume:

    2007-11-05 07:20:36.421875 [ERROR][UpdateIconThread]: MediaPortal: Unhandled exception occured
    2007-11-05 07:20:36.671875 [ERROR][UpdateIconThread]: Exception :Win32.Utils.Cd.DeviceVolumeMonitorException: There is no active form!

    If PowerScheduler hibernates, the display freezes and stays frozen, until MP is restarted.
    But MP doesn't crash :rolleyes:

    So I figured, PowerScheduler is not releasing the display properly? Or am I the only one with this problem?

    :D
