Managed to get mine all up and running (Antec Fusion Black with LCD) after a little bit of fiddling, but it seems I can make MP crash by enabling the "Top Line" as volume advanced option. I'm running under Vista and without the option switched on, the LCD behaves as expected (although it would be nice if some of the other elements of the LCD were utilised as it is with Windows Media Center e.g. speaker status), but when I enable the option the display works navigating the GUI, but on playing a video the LCD clears and I get alerts from Vista that MP has crashed (but the video and main GUI continues). Enabling the bottom line doesn't cause any problems.

I've tried 3 different versions of the SG_VFD.dll file (the one with MP, the one downloaded via this thread and the one with v7 beta of iMon that's installed). The latter btw, when copied into the drivers folder causes the config program to display an error about some entry point being missing.

I'm not near my machine at the moment to get a log (not that I'm 100% sure how to enable it anyway), but wondered if in the meantime if anyone else has tried this option?

Cheers,
Taomyn

I like this plugin very much!!!:D :D
Cybrmage: VERY GOOD WORK!!!! :D

I have a Thermaltake Lanbox HT and ALL WORKS perfectly with VFD+EQ+V3.dll like Chemelli (thank you for your interest in it), Pretoriano etc.

I have only the little problem quoted below:

As the iMON VFD itself does not completely power off with the computer, the current
message on the display will show until the iMON driver is reloaded. When I use FrontView
only, this is not a problem as the standby message can be set to blank. With Mediaportal
however, the display will read "MediaPortal not active" after MP is closed (or the
computer is turned off from inside MP). The only solution is to clear the display by
activating FrontView.

Loading the ExternalDisplay plugin seems to force the FrontView option Run When iMON
Starts to "never" (which means I have to reset this option to "always" whenever I want
to use the VFD outside MP). Wouldn't it also be possible to incorporate a function to
re-enable FrontView on exiting MediaPortal?

So... as I wish to use MP with the VFD, but without the hazzle of having to manually
restart FrontView to clear the display before shutting down the computer, my request
is if possible an added option to;

<preferably>
- automatically (re)start FrontView when Mediaportal is closing/non-active.

<alternatively>
- clear the display when closing Mediaportal (i.e. change the "MediaPortal not active"
standby message to blank).

FYI, I am using the iMON_7_00_1112_BETA drivers with the latest ProcessPlugin version.

Cheers,
freddie

I don't found a reply to his requests and I add mine :oops:

The preference is for "restart FrontView when Mediaportal is closiong", but if it's too much complicated, it's possible to change (customizing) the message "Mediaportal not active" inserting e.g. the Time also when MP (and the PC) is off? (maybe changing EsternalDisplay ??) :confused: :confused:

Thank you in advance to all wants help me.

Bye
Maurizio

by the way. Does anyone made his Antec fusion black to work with Microsoft remote as normal M$ receiver? setting "use microsoft remote or keyboard" do not work in my case (i use standart MCE remote but do not want to use its receiver - it spoils all Fusion black nice view;)), i do not have any buttons mapping (i was forced to load mediaportal.imo profile in imon software)

Mine does but iMon must be running in the background which is annoying as it means the remote does not work if the pc is at the login screen. I'm also running the v7 iMon beta under Vista x64 if that makes any difference.

To SpudR

I simply follow the instruction found in this thread (a little long..).
If I remember correctly:
- minimum version 0.2.3.0 (I have no SVN installed);
- download the plugin last version (you found it in post n. 500 in this thread);
- copy this dll in Mediaportal\plugin\Process subdir (rename the one you found to conserve it);
- go in configuration-> plugin->external display to enable it;
- configure it selecting the type with the name "SoundGraaph IMon integrated USB VFD/LCD Driver v.1.0";
- select the USB port and in "advanced" select the SG_VFDv.3 type (or something like this, I don't remeber exactly now) and the EQ if you want;
- you must have the last driver and software from SOUNDGRAPH to drive the VFD (I use the 7.0xx beta version);
- in the IMON property, the VFD must be selected "never load";
- now when you launch Mediaportal, the VFD must work!!

If I'm not clear, tell me.

Bye
Maurizio

    Antec Fusion Black

    Hi all,

    I've been doing some reading and getting a bit confused.
    I have just got an Antec Fusion Black with LCD and IR receiver. (some might say, not a good move!)
    I am using a very current SVN (17086).

    - If I use iMon manager (ver 7.00.1206 (ANTEC)), then the volume control works but the LCD display does not work.
    - If I disabled iMon manager, the LCD works but the volume does not work.
    - If I use the process plugin supplied with thread #500, MediaPortal crashes when shutdown. Logs are attached.

    1) Is this a known issue?
    2) Should I use the current SVN version of process plugins or the one with thread #500?
    3) How do you get the volume to work without iMon manager?

    I haven't even attempted to get the remote working but any suggestion there will help.
    My last machine was using the universal serial remote. Not sure if that will work through the Antec IR receiver?? (I doubt it)

    Thanks

    Matt
