    Thanks Sugarfree,

    1). Are you using the Antec version of iMon? Can you post the link and version number?
    2). Did you install iMedian too?
    3). When you say the latest external display plugin, does that mean the version from the current SVN or is there somewhere else to download the latest?

    Thanks

    Matt

    After uninstalling the web updated iMon version and using the VFD app that comes with the Antec case, both my volume and LCD function as expected. I haven't tried getting the remote to work, but that's next.

    I will post a final config when achieved.

    Mau_Mau:
    - minimum version 0.2.3.0 (I have no SVN installed);
    Check (I have the latest SVN)
    - download the plugin last version (you found it in post n. 500 in this thread);
    Check
    - copy this dll in Mediaportal\plugin\Process subdir (rename the one you found to conserve it);
    Check
    - go in configuration-> plugin->external display to enable it;
    Check
    - configure it selecting the type with the name "SoundGraaph IMon integrated USB VFD/LCD Driver v.1.0";
    Presume you mean the 12-03-2007b version downloaded??
    Check
    - select the USB port and in "advanced" select the SG_VFDv.3 type (or something like this, I don't remeber exactly now) and the EQ if you want;
    'Advanced' only available if I select the 12*03*2007b version - Check
    - you must have the last driver and software from SOUNDGRAPH to drive the VFD (I use the 7.0xx beta version);
    I have the 7.00.1206 version from ThermalTake - check
    - in the IMON property, the VFD must be selected "never load";
    I think MP does this automatically now the .dll is enabled - check (I have done this manually too :) )
    - now when you launch Mediaportal, the VFD must work!!
    nope :(
    Guess something in the SVN breaks this :(

    Hi,

    I have followed steps/checks from post 544 and still unable to get my VFD working. I have SilverStone GD01MX case with IMon. My MediaPortal log is in attachment. According to it my SG_VFD.DLL does not have an entry point named 'DLL_GetInfo'. I tried to use this dll from my SoundGraph folder and the one which is in MediaPortal folder with no luck.
    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Andre.

    My setup which excludes the remote control is very much simpler.
    I am using a recent SNV and the driver disk that came with the Antec Fusion case. To make mediaportal work with the display, I set the VFD app (equivelent to iMon app) to "never" run and copied the SG_VFD.dll file (version 5.1.0.1201) from the installed Antec directory to the mediaportal directory.
    The volume work directly on the master volume while the display is accessed through the Antec DLL.
    This allows the External monitor plugin that is installed with the SVN to work.

    I had a brief attempt at getting an iMon remote control to be recognised by both the VFD app and the iMon app. As I didn't get any feedback from either of the Soundgraph applications and given that amount of difficulty that many people appear to have had with the built in IR receiver, I think I'll go and buy an MCE remote.

    I purchased the MCE remote (pretty cheap too :) ) to get the remote stuff working.
    That bit works like a charm.
    I also have set the VFD to display 'Auto' info and selected the 'date and time' and 'G. EQ' settings.
    Now the VFD displays the date/time and the G. EQ when playing music etc.
    Not nearly good enough but it'll do for the time being...

    Cybrmage - you still working on this???

    If that is the case... you are more than welcome to figure out the quirks of the iMON displays, figure out the quirks of the ExternalDisplay plugin, figure out the quirks of MediaPortal... and create your own driver that does EXACTLY what you want it to do.

    And no... I am no longer developing the plugin posted in this thread.

    I never meant to be rude - I simply meant that my setup is not nearly good enough.
    It was never a slur on your exemplary work to date :)
    If I had half the ability you have shown I would attempt it!

    it's a shame that you are dropping this but i guess there are more important things than MP after all ;)

    Hi Cybrmage,

    Sorry to hear you're not working on this anymore. You've been asked a bunch of times if you can get your work put into subversion. How's that going? It seems you've done some great work, but unless it's in the repository, it doesn't really count.

    You know, the whole "open source" thing..?

    Once it's in, others can take over where you left off, like you suggest.

    Thanks again for your great work.
