didn't make a change.

Strange... I guess that Zalman has made some changes to the command set for the display... How cooperative is Zalman's tech support? will they provide the command specifications?

Do you have a USB monitor? can you capture the data being sent from the iMON software to the device?

I'll try to fool the iMON software into thinking that it has your display attached... but the last time I tried that (for the 3Rsystems display) it wasn't very helpful... Until we can determine what is different about this display (as compared to the others) there isn't much else that can be done.

Indeed, very strange!
I tried to capture the data with the 14day trial USB Monitor from HHD Software. The recording was started when the display was turned of in the iMon setup, then beeing switched on while Winamp was playing a song. After some seconds i shut down Winamp to let iMon software display some of the auto-modus informations.
Was that a useful procedure?
Enclosed is the monitoring stream from HHD USB Monitor.
If nothing helps, I will contact the Zalman support (no experiences with its support yet) and ask them for a solution.

Greetings,
Stefan

Enclosed is the monitoring stream from HHD USB Monitor.

Can you export the log as plain text... My trial of HHD USB Monitor expired a LONG time ago.... If you can't, I'll have to prep a new OS install (which will take a day or two)...

Was that a useful procedure?
It could be...

If you could...
1) run iMON Manager
2) set frontview to "Auto" mode
3) set "Run Frontvie" to "Never" and click "Apply"
4) start the USB logging
5) set "Run Frontview" to "Always" and click "apply"
6) left the display operate for a minute or two
7) stop the USB monitoring
8) post the results.

I didn't find the export function first, so i decided to post you the stream version. Now i found the (annoying!) export function where you have to wait for real time playback of the recorded stream once before you can export it.
Anyway, I recorded the data once more by your advises 1 to 8. Enclosed the txt. :)

Edit: wah...that was the "basic" version. Now I also attached you the "complete" version. Hope that is what you need!

I think there is something in MP stopping this working :(
I have trawled through my logs and found that there are many commands about sending info to the display, with nothing showing on it.
Not sure if it will help at all but i can post my logs if you would like?

Thanks again for your help with this CybrMage :)

I REALLY hate it when people who want help can't be bothered to READ the thread (even going back only ONE page)before they post!!!

    Hi cybrmage!

    Newest version didn't change anything.
I followed your advises and recorded 2 USB-Logs.
I also enclosed you the MP-Logs after using the new plugin version.

    Greetings,
    Stefan

Edit: Btw. -> iMon Manager says that firmware has version number 0x380101
    Maybe that is important?

Btw. -> iMon Manager says that firmware has version number 0x380101

That's not important... (It may just be that there is a display bug in the Zalman version of iMON Manager)... The SG_RC.dll returns 0x3801... and that's what we look for... and, if that isn't returned, we extract the display type information from the SoundGraph registry entries... so we are properly detecting the display.

    Newest version didn't change anything.

That's wierd... The MediaPortal log shows that we are sending exactly the same sequence of commands to the display as iMON manager does...

Can you do one more USB monitoring test:

    1) shut down iMON Manager
    2) start the USB logging
    3) run MediaPortal.
    4) Once the MediaPortal UI is displayed, wait 15 seconds, then exit MediaPortal
    5) stop the USB monitoring
    6) post the log.

    Thanks
