It may not have been Zalman that made the changes specifically... It may have been SoundGraph... The Zalman display you have is the first LCD (other than the 3Rsystems displays which were custom designed by 3Rsystems) that I've experienced to use this "new" or "alternate" command set... So Zalman get the blame 8-}

weren't 15 seconds. Anyway ok, or shall I do it again?

It should be ok... I'll let you know as soon as I get a chance to look it over... I just specified 15 seconds because I didn't want to go through another 22Meg log... 8-} (NO... that wasn't complaint... even a huge log is better than no log... 8-} )

EDIT:

That's really strange... The USB logs only show a device removal and device detection.... It does not show MediaPortal communicating with the device....

When you run MediaPortal, do you here device disconnect and reconnect sounds?

Could you rerun the last log, but this time leave iMON manager running, but with "run frontview" set to "never"

Thanks

Enclosed the new log.
I can't hear the device disconnect/reconnect sound, but it was the way the display reacted from beginning on.
When I have set up the display to "auto mode" or "always running" in iMon manager while the display plugins are disabled in mediaportal configuration, the display turns blank for a few seconds when starting mediaportal and then turns up again.

Greetings,
Stefan

EDIT: "turns blank" isn't 100 percent correct, in facte the two bars are displayed.

Ok... just to clarify... When the CybrDisplay driver is DISABLED and iMON manager is controling the display... running Mediaportal causes the display to "malfunction" momentarily...

Is this correct??

What other USB devices do you have attached to your system?

If you wanna call it "malfunction", you are right.
The only other usb device is a fritz! wlan usb stick.
On the two remaining internal usb-ports i have connected the front usb ports of the case, but there are no devices permanently attached.

Yes! I do want to call it a malfunction! Any undesired operation of the display is a malfunction... My iMON LCD (in an Antec Fusion Black) does not disconnect/reconnect when MediaPortal runs... So yes, I consider the the behaviour you describe to be a malfunction... The question is... What's causing it???

The only other usb device is a fritz! wlan usb stick.

When MediaPortal runs, does the wlna stick loose it's connection???

What I'm trying to figure out is why does running MediaPortal cause the display to disconnect and the reconnect to the USB bus...

The driver probably (doesn't function because when it start up, the device has disconnected... and by the time that it reconnects, we have already sent the initialization commands...

EDIT: try the latest version (please try it without iMON Manager running)... see it it makes any difference... (I added a 10 second delay to the driver startup for this display... hopefully that should give enough time for the device to reconnect before we try to talk to it.

I see! That might be the crux.
Wlan stick doesn't loose its connection. I also connected my wireless mouse to test, if it might be impossible to turn the cursor when i start mediaportal and the display disconnects and reconnect, but that is possible all the time. It seems to be only the display, which disconnects for several seconds.
Last thing i just tried was to connect the display to the other usb-port, but that also results in short disconnect when starting mediaportal.

EDIT:
Waaah!
It works!!!!
The 10 second delay is enough to get it work!
Now the only lasting question is, why the hell mediaportal causes the display, and only the display, to reconnect.
And (hopefuly) the last little issue is, that the LCD keeps displaying the last menu point after shutting down mediaportal.

Hmm... strange... Mediaportal may be mis-detecting the display as a USB capture device.... If that is the case, it may be forcing the display to reset because it can't initialize it...

Good...

Please post you latest MediaPortal log so I can see what, if anything, mediaportal is doing with the USB bus...

thank you

You're welcome...

Just for completeness... Please configure the display to use the equalizer and see if it work when you play an MP3 file... I would like to make sure that they haven't changed any of the commands use for it...

Thanks.
