Everything. I think the weather is the main reason. We also have very big sun spots at the moment. This might influence your PC!

sorry! I really do not want to scare people away seeking help.
But we really cannot help with NULL information. Even, if the answer might be simple.
- So please fill out the support template.
- Make a detailed report (don't the videos play at all, or does the screen stay black, or do you here sound, what type of video do you play, etc.).
- post your logs (/Team Media Portal/MediaPortal/logs/) into PasteBin trying to run a video fullscreen.

maybe setting loglevel to debug might pinpoint the difference between normal and stuck?
Preferable with as much disabled as possible
also try to see if anything is happening during stuck for the mediaportal process(resource monitor, disk activity, cpu usage, anything)

Since over a year my MP sometimes stucks while showing the welcome screen. It started once a week now it happens every second time...

A little confusion for me here!
There are 2 x files in the folder......one is x86, and other is x64
Wondering if I should be selecting the x64.....since I'm installing the 64bit version?
UPDATE Transferred both files to the destination folder, and labelled appropriately. This way...

Should've said that.....the screen I posted previously .....is the 1st screen I was getting....and selecting 'back' or 'homepage' then takes me to a usable screen. Nothing apearing to be wrong with TV server at that point.

Sorry, I didn't get email notifications on these latest replies. I just came here to report I solved the problem after adjusting power settings for "Intel Graphics". I set it to Maximum Performance. I tried many other things so it could be a combination of them, but this was the last thing I did and I haven't had the problem return...

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ?
MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo.
