Sorry if this comes across as stupid....I see the example 4:3 PAL and 16:9 PAL in the 1st post. I'm in the USA so the broadcasts are NTSC (ATSC now that it's all digital for OTA?). Would I have to make changes based on that? I would like for the 4:3 broadcasts to auto zoom in on my wide screen tv.

It doesn't matter, it's just a name for a rule. You can name them 4:3 NTSC and 16:9 NTSC if you like.
It's al about pixels and ratio. And check the mediaportal.log file to see how the rules are working out.

Copied TVCapture.dll from previous mediaportal install to Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal and all is working again.
Don't know why this TVCapture.dll is missing in the ALPHA version though?

You guys should really start reading teh news on HP !

TVCapture is not present because TVE2 is removed from current MP.

A new version of the plugin will be uploaded tomorrow.

Don't know why this TVCapture.dll is missing in the ALPHA version though?

Simone, i read every news item! But how should i know what dll is part of which mp part?

I have some trouble with when the plugin switches to "normal" mode - it ignores the cropping

Update: Found it!

In the log:
Unable to start plugin: ProcessPlugins.ViewModeSwitcher.ViewModeSwitcher exception: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'TVCapture, Version=1.0.2.42496, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.
File name: 'TVCapture, Version=1.0.2.42496, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'
at ProcessPlugins.ViewModeSwitcher.ViewModeSwitcher.Start()
at MediaPortal.GUI.Library.PluginManager.Start()

That issue should have been fixed almost half a year ago. So the issue is most likely something else (i.e. detection fails on some content).

I'm using ViewModeSwitcher under Vista 32 and EVR, no problems so far for many time ago... Sometimes (very little times) it fails to detect black bars, but in most cases is caused by "non really black" bars ... I fix it adjusting Black Level tolerance.
