It works!

Only problem is the aspect ratio seems to be off with it. Not sure why

the two main bugs that i know of at the moment:
*) DVDs do not play
*) aspect ratio is wrong in some cases

i am able to reproduce both problems, and am looking into them.

regarding the DVD Playback issues: This seems to be a problem of certain codecs that do not play well with EVR pin-connection. at least MPV has this problem. when i set the dvd playback codec to DScaler, everything works as expected, except that my dvd playback stutters a little.

you can test which filters work by loading the enhanced video renderer into graphedit, and try connecting it's input pin to the video output pin of the tested mpeg decoder. if it works, it will work in MP too.

as there is not much i can do about this issue, i guess we will have to wait for an MPV update to get the DVD player work out of the box with EVR. maybe the error handling in that case could be improved somehow, as the fallback from EVR to VMR9 does not work correctly at the moment. any thoughts?

Any thoughts on DivX/Xvid?
These do not play either with EVR under Vista.

what codec do you use? both work fine for me with ffdshow and the official DivX codec. please attach mediaportal.log and vmr9.log, and if possible a link to a video that does not work for you.
btw, _important_: are you using the dll i uploaded a few posts ago, or are you using current svn, because svn seems to be not up to date and broken.
