I haven't found a direct answer, does the vista MCE remote work with Windows XP?

R8td, Looking at the link the remote doesn't appear to be a genuine microsoft one. I have a MCE remote and it works in both XP an Vista. The one I have is this one: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouseandkeyboard/ProductDetails.aspx?pid=065&active_tab=overview
If possible I would stick to a genuine one.

Eh... I bet that is not correct.

I am certain that you get more out of the MCE remote (or any other remotes) by using and-81's plugin(s).

see if you can get the european remote, which has 4 extra teletext coloured buttons, which are very useful and do have functions within MP (like red = fullscreen).
