Milkdrop is a Winamp 2.x plugin, which operates in it's own window only.
i was trying to make it work, but didn't suceed yet.

There's a chance for Winamp 5 plugings, like AVS.
I've them running already internally, but i still have a very high CPU usage > 95% , when starting them.
    Need to test more.

AVS is infamous for its high cpu load - that's why GL accelerated products like milkdrop run so much smoother :/

BeatHarness is my all-time fav plugin - www.beatharness.com

A new version has just been released... integration with MP would be AWESOME.

Check it out - it easily has the best beat-matching I've ever seen in a vis.

There's TwistedPixel, which seems to playback milkdrop stuff natively, at least in WMP - http://www.visolu.com/TwistedPixel - I couldn't get it running in MP, however - just gave me a horizontal red line flickering at the top of the screen. If we could have milkdrop stuff running in MP, it would be indescribably fantastic.

The problem is that Milkdrop tries to run in a window of it's own.
we haven't found a way yet to force the viz running inside the MP environment.

I currently have two Quatros running, one connect, one duo using OTA antennae, mostly UHF fringe area, mostly cat5 local network. Hauppauge card retired long ago. I have also retired very early SD units, the Quatros seem to work much better than the older units. Go to SD's support website and download and install the windows...

Well, I had already recognized your problem, but I still wanted to point out the basic connections once again. Unfortunately, I don't have a fundamentally different solution for you, but with this approach you should achieve your goal. ;) The idea of first setting the current genre colors with the defines is certainly a good one, as...
