I always have DVB subtitles enabled in "MP Config", but I actually switch on subtitles only for those films that have deafening sound effects and music, combined with inaudible dialogue. Every so often, when I switch to a TV channel, my MP client stops accepting user inputs, either from the remote or keyboard/mouse...

the last weeks my MP2.5 Server with TVE3 is running not very good/stable. After 30 min the server quits working after changing EPG from EPG Buddie to Clickfinder (TV Movie). The OS and the MP2.5 Server Software were installed several times new, but in general nothing changed.

So, you're power cycling the TV, but not putting the PC to sleep ?
In General => Startup/Resume settings, try checking "Ignore Windows resolution/size changes"
In Codecs and Render, try selecting the specific audio device rather than "Default DirectSound device"
Just ideas, no guarantee this will do anything.
