AW: Wanted anti vuvu sound filter ...

I am running ffdshow with these eq settings right now. I is not nearly as good as the examples above, but better than nothing...
With the eq the voice of the commentator is leveled down too much, but better less vuvus. The comments aren't that clever anyway...

I didn't dimm the frequencies down to -24db as the sound get to hollow for me. Just play with the regulator a little bit.

I think fir won't work as you can't set up multiple frequencies to block.

    Hi,

just found this guide here: Vuvuzela-Filter mit ffdshow am Beispiel von MediaPortal | Patrick Gotthard

(@Luca Brasi: looks similar to what you were trying)

Sounds promising, but I haven't tried it yet. Hopefully I'll be done before ITA-PAR ends...

Just tried it: difference is pretty good! You can compare it pretty easily in live tv in windowed mode so you can activatate/deactivate the equalizer filter from the ffdshow audio decoder tray menu. Soccer is so much better without that constant, ambiance-killing *hummmmmmmmm*

    cheers,
    phe

a lot of soundcards/-chips come with software. e.g. realtek which can be found in system control. although not exactly the frequencies are chooseable for that special noise of an attacking swarm of killer bees called vuvuzela it helps dampening that nerveracking noise. just play abit with the knobs especially in a range between 200 and 2000 Hz.

The BBC have set up a separate audio stream that viewers can select that has the vuvu filtered out :)

Can anyone tell me the step-by-step procedure for bringing up a second channel in pip mode? I can only do it sometimes, after many tries, and it’s not clear what I am doing that makes it work on those occasions when it does. Cannot find guidance on the site. Thanks, N. Again, if anyone knows how to do this, would be much...

Thank you for pointing out that my analysis may be less than accurate. :p Although the change to TV channel 71 may not also have been applied to the independent radio channels (different MUXes), the logs that I prepared for one of the development team does show a difference between channel 704 ("BBC Radio 4") and channel 731...

So, you're power cycling the TV, but not putting the PC to sleep ? In General => Startup/Resume settings, try checking "Ignore Windows resolution/size changes" In Codecs and Render, try selecting the specific audio device rather than "Default DirectSound device" Just ideas, no guarantee this will do anything. If this doesn't work, I...
