11.9 seems to solve all video playback issues of previous versions for me

11.9 working for me too.

Last good version for me was 11.4, but i never tried other releases beyond 11.6.

My previous version was 11.4.

The hdmi audio driver from 11.9 is bad, it sometimes does not detect the connected audio receiver. This does not appear with the 11.4 hdmi audio driver, so I use 11.4 for audio and 11.9 for video.

You can also install the ati realtek driver, can be found on the realtek driver download page.
