AW: WARNING: pixelation/corruption on h264 channels.

For me the PDVD stuff doesn't work well with discontinues - so i'm using the MS DTV codec which works nearly fine... don't you have problems with discontinues und the PDVD codec gibman?

I've tried the new coreavc 2.5.0.1 with dxva today. So far so good. An alternative to pdvd for you all.

I tried this codec as well using ATI dxva mode.

Problem found when changing between channels where the resolution differs.

eg. u start by tuning a 1080p channel and then tune to a std. def channel (both using h264), then u will see a static image of the previous std. def channel.
The new channel which is appearing in a small area of the complete 1920x1080 resolution.
It seems as if the new channel is still being seen as a 1080p broadcast showing carbage of the previous channel on the left over area.

    makes sense ?

maybe no problem when using nvidia+cuda ?

Finally someone with the same problem as me!:)

I also have these problems when switching h264 channels with different resolutions, I think it's because mp doesn"t reconnect the filters when the video resolutions changes (and many codecs require that: ffdshow dxva, mpc hc, microsoft, core avc,...)

I posted this in the bug report section some time ago, but no really respone, it also included a possible fix, hack.

Luckily, the two HD channels that I'm able to descramble without CI+ both have the same res. On the other hand, CoreAVC is partly aimed at people using it in 3rd party players. So a proper bugreport or something to BetaBoy at doom9 could have that problem solved in future releases.

    Hello,
I never had this problem until yesterday and after I install the catalyst 11.5 (and then the 11.5a).
I first thought my TV signal was temporarily weak but I don't think it's the case.
I was previously with the 11.4 and didn't have the problem, I will try to move back to the previous version to see if it fixes the problem.
Anyone here with the same problem since 11.5?
    Thanks

    Hi there,

I tried 11.5, but had pixelation issues with it - so reverted back to 11.4

Not sure if it was my specific machine, I will try it on another client and let you know.

I suppose you could ask, if 11.4 works, why change? ;)

    Hi ced007 and Jay_UK

I can confirm I had terrible pixalation with 11.5 ( downloaded on 12/05/2011 so assume it was 11.5a) on my HD5450 using MS decoders (as anything else struggles with deinterlacing in my setup). The picture would break up every few seconds and often show a picture from a few second previous during this break up. This was for 2 separate recordings on BBC1 HD. Reverting to 11.4 fixed the problem.

Exactly, coming back to 11.4 fixes the problem.
Thank you ATI for this 11.5 version ;)
